Frugal Friday..memory style~Part 2

Continuing on with a memory lane of scrappy quilts, as Michele requested. I hope some of you are playing along also *VBS* Here the one that Blogger snitched yesterday.
Over the years I've been mostly a traditional quilter. But there is that "wild" side just under the surface and the maverick often bubbles up in a playful manner.
I've pulled pictures from here and there and they range from bed quilts to baby quilts and back again. All of my children and grandchildren have my quilts. Some of them love them more than others. All are fairly supportive of my habit...LOL
I'm not as prolific a quilter as Bonnie,at Quiltville, or some of the other gals who blog. I will admit to having slowed down the production pace of years ago. I probably play more than I actually work these days. But given a reason, I can get things finished and out the door *VBS* I don't think any of the quilts today, except maybe the words, have any recycled material in them. I do have a few and I'll show you those tomorrow. It's a bit harder to explain WHY I use what I do, and I'm not sure I really can, except to say that its "the spirit" that moves me at the moment.

That blogger...that was a pretty amazing snitch!I think someone at blog central wanted to snuggle up with a quilt for a while *VBG* and who could blame them. When you say you're not very prolific...I groaned. There are so many awesome things here...the colors, the styles, the fun factor...makes my head spin. Someday, even the nay sayers will realize how precious quilts truly are and how much love each one carries. It takes each of us different amounts of time to come around and then we we just want more..have more, make more! They're definitely addictive! Fabulous collection of photos, Finn. How many quilts have you kept for yourself over the years?

I like the one of Ebby smack in the middle of the quilt, last picture. She sure knows where she belongs, doesn't she?

I think you're amazingly prolific, Finn! You put me to shame. You have a lucky family, snug under all those happy quilts.

Oh Finn, I just LOVE your quilts. You have given me kick-starts when I have needed them, & are always an inspiration.
You are also a great reminder that quilts should be FUN!!

I love seeing so many of your quilts so close together. It's a real feast for the eyes and it gets my fingers itching to sew.

What a dear you are to share so many of your quilts with us in one or two posts! (Ain't technology grand?) If I had a camera this weekend I would be tempted to join in on Michele's challenge. I would like to show what happened to the first quilt I made out of scraps. Might have to make a note to self to do that when the camera comes home...
