Time to get busy....

and get some things completed. It's not that I haven't been getting things "done", it's just that I haven't gotten anything "finished". But it has been fun!!! *VBS* I've had so much fun playing with the MAM scraps in that hospital washtub. I'm still not done emptying the tub, so I don't know how many "quilt seeds" it contained. I have begun setting some of them with these odd lattice strips, a donation gift bag packed with pre-cut 2.5" purple/white printed strips.
I've turned a FQ bundle gift from my friend Cher into these Vanishing 9 patch blocks...enough for a donation quilt top. Just gotta lay them out and sew, sew, sew!
And I've used up nearly all my 2" strips in this "Fun with Bricks" from Quiltville. I need more 2" strips cut and sewn into those 2" X 3.5" blocks! I've also sewn up a Fence Rail variation from Barbie fabrics. A couple more rows and that one will be ready for finishing.
BUT... what I really NEED to do, is finish this one. I was 16 squares short.I got those made this weekend and joined up the blocks and rows yesterday. Now for pressing and a backing. This one is headed for a baby boy who's due on August 13th. I'm setting myself a goal to finishing this one up this week, and getting one more top pinned and ready to go. It's a mini goal I know, but I've had a really "goal-less" few months, where I just puttered. Time to get busy!!

It's all looking great. I love the snowball one. Whites just make all the other colors pop, no matter what pattern it is. Hugs my friend..

You have been very busy. I love the blocks in the second picture. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with them. AS quilters we know you don't have to finish everything you start right away. We will eventually get to it.

Cracking the whip I see. Hopefully it doesn't get too hot and humid so you can sew in relative comfort.

Hey, good to get caught up with you. My feed reader didn't tell me you've been posting all along since June. =) Everyone loves the Bowtie quilt, so do I. I was wondering if you'd be willing to share the size of the block and the pieces. I know the method, just need the math!

I see I need to take a closer look at Fun with Bricks. It looks more fun seeing the block you've made.

Nothing wrong with doing lots of things here and there, one day it will all come together beautifully.
