Our new friend....

Ann Maree is joining our UFO countdown from down under *VBS* She doesn't have a blog and I offered to show you the projects she has chosen. If you clicked on her name, the link took you to my blog..pretty clever, aren't I? LOL..well, sort of. In the first collage picture are Quilts #1, #3, and #5. She's beginning with #1. I will add abit more information about each quilt as the 'finished' pictures come in.
Second collage shows Quilts #2 and #4.
In creating the collages, I paired the quilts up this way because of angle of the photo. The 3 vertical shots worked best together, as did the 2 horizontal ones.
I'm up and running with my UFOs, and happy to report that I hope to show my first finish tomorrow. I machine quilted it yesterday afternoon while watching golf...LOL I think I had almost as many bad shots as Tiger. He won despite a trouble day, and I hope that I can also. I began a new spool of tread from Connecting Thread(my usual thread)and have NEVER experienced that much breakage while quilting. I swear it broke about every 10 minutes. I had cleaned and oiled the machine prior to starting, and even changed the needle. Finally in desperation, after switching spools of tread and still getting the breakage, I broke down and put the old needle back in. Worked like a charm, no more breaks...but why did I have such trouble with that new needle??? The $64 dollar question I guess *VBS*

Maybe there is a burr in the needle hole or along the shaft of the needle somewhere. Sometimes it happens that a new needle has a defect. Throw it away.

Beautiful quilts...

Finn, Michelle and I are on a challenge too, so you have to change my amount to 19. I'm going to see if I can match her count. It's a stretch for me yet I figured it just might push me enough to get more finished.

Hugs and thanks for doing this challenge. I can't wait to see how everyone does.

If you're using clear monofilament, try spritzing with water and keep in the fridge for a bit. Sometimes monofilament gets too dry and breaks easily.

how lovely to visit and catch up with you and see the wonderful quilts you have sent to various folks and a new ufo challenge- just the ticket! I am signing up for 3-enough to get me back on track-not so many I will feel too daunted.
I still have much gardening to do before those autumn rains arrive-once they do, it's quilting time for sure!

Thank you for including me in the challenge. Just by signing up, I got motivated to get going on an unfinished quilt top yesterday and got the borders on.
Thanks for hosting this challenge, and also for visiting my blog and letting me know about the no-reply thing. (I think I fixed it.)

I'm with Paula... sometimes it's not worth the headache... throw the trouble maker out!!! And isn't everything more than $64 now??? LoL... hang in there... oh, by the way, love Anne Maree's quilts... especially the 2 collection top one sooo scrappy! Great way to use up tiny little squares!

Okay, I give! I just finished one UFO and am close to finishing another, so why didn't I just jump in at the beginning??

Don't answer that.

What do I need to do?
