Out the door.....

to their new owners, and that makes me very happy *VBS*!! Here's Baby W. born on Aug. 8th. He's the new little(half)brother to 2 of my grandsons.
And this is the quilt that the grandsons gave their Mom for Baby W. Given with love, by them and their Daddy *VBS*
This quilt, called Aurora, went out the door last Sunday and landed in the arms of a special 3 year old boy. Alex is the son of my son's best friends *VBS*
And this Kitchen Sink Variation, went out the door on Tuesday. It's destination is northern WI and the wheelchair of a good friends sister. She was diagnosised with ALS last September. Her progress has been fairly slow, altho it's taken alot from her in the past year. I told her sister it's a "sturdy little workhorse" and not to be afraid of washing and drying it. It's meant to do the rough stuff, and not to be afraid to tuck it around her legs in the wheelchair. I only know the woman slightly, through 2 of the other sisters. My dear friend D. lost her short battle with ALS the summer of '03, less than a year after diagnosis. It's seem beyond belief that her younger sister would also have the disease. There is no cure. One prays for courage and understanding and strength to face what will come. The quilt seems a small thing by comparison.

Wonderful gifts of the heart, Finn and to deserving recipients! The new baby is a real cutie, congrats to the new step brothers! But oh how it hurts to know that so many still battle ALS...such a terrible disorder! I know your little workhorse will comfort her by touch and weight and color when she has no words it will create conversations for her! Lovely quilts, all of them!
