Life in the slow lane....

guess that's not news to anyone who knows me *VBS* I've always been 'about' the road less traveled. Breaking a trail to where I happen to be wandering. At times I find myself thinking about a life of discipline, but my natural instincts seem to take over an move in a different direction. Serendipity isn't always the easiest Master. Here's that old tutorial table runner. I was so happy to be finishing it up. And I had such a good start. Backing made, runner quilted, but I've managed to mis-place the dark red fabric I used, and of course nothing else pleases me. So the search continues, and the binding is on "hold" until I find it. Darn! And I was doing so well on 'finishes'.
Here another UFO you've seen before. I have no less than 4 completed strippy quilts that need a backing made and machine quilting before I can bind them. And don't tell anyone, but there are 2 more in the nearly finished stage. One from plaid flannels and one that is a Cowboy Strippy. I'm shameless, I know...bad Finn!
This is the one that should have been being worked on this past 2 weeks, but I'm busy looking for the dark red to make binding...bah humbug on me! This ones backing is made, and with straight line quilting, it will be ready for binding fast! Once I get to it, that is *VBG*

Now along with our gloomy rainy, snowy weather...you'd think I'd be depressed...but not too much to show some Happy Halloween spirit! Hugs for all *VBS*

You have been busy! I love the strippies especially -- and I guess the cat does, too!

Ahh shucks! I'm glad you still have some spirit in ya with all you have lined up here. I think its pretty good myself. Grand actually. Because once you get to that one with the backing made and start on that straight line quilting you'll be done in NO TIME flat!!!

Such pretty work...do you machine quilt them all? I saw in one of the shots that the furry quilt inspector was busy at work.

Stay warm and dry.

I tried one summer to be spontaneous and I could not handle it. I like a routine and list to go by. I love all your quilts. I particularly like the strippy one. That last one is a great baby quilt. 80 degrees here today!

Your making progress and that is what matter. Slow but steady wins the race. Right?

Hey Finn, I bet if you show a close-up shot of that red, someone in blogland will have a piece big enough for binding!

Oh the strippy - maybe I'll find mine soon and can get it finished before the new year *s*

Wow, if you finish all those UFOs, will you exceed your expectations for the UFO New Years Eve deadline? I bet you can do it.

Happy Halloween to you, too.

Hi Finn: We have a finish here - I have just photographed my round reversible Christmas/winter quilted tablecloth, and may post about it tomorrow - folks can check either of my blogs - novascotiaquilts.com or quiltingwithjanet.blogspot.com to see where it winds up!
These days, with my memory and my poorly organized stash I have taken to cutting the binding in advance and pinning it to the finished quilt top prior to quilting - works for me!

Hi Finn!
You can add another finished UFO to my name:-) I'm so glad I signed up for your challenge. I have finished more UFOs the last month or so than the last two years, although only the UFOs that I put on my to do list when I signed up counts as finishes for the challenge. I do want to finish them and still need the motivation...
