abit of this and a dash of that *VBS* And as promised, birthday loot! These are the 8 FQs from DD#1. A really nice assortment. The kittens are just darling. A couple of autumn tone pieces, some dots and spots and even on Christmas fabric. She really loves fabric shopping, and there is a quilt shop in Forest Lake, MN. That's the city in which she works. You did great babe!
And my lovely surprise gift from my friend Julie, of Julie Quilts. I absolutely LOVE the autumn quilt and will enjoy the magazine. Thank you so much Julie, you touch my heart in so many ways *VBS*
My second finish for the UFO Challenge. I've put off binding this little quilt from Prairie Children book. Not sure why, guess I just couldn't make up my mind. It's a small victory, but a "win" none the less. In the UFO Challenge department we are doing very well. We've finished week 2 of the challenge, and 12 projects have been finished. We've had a couple of new gals join us this past week. If you get a chance, pop over and say "hi" to Kathleen and Janet. Or any and all gals on the list...we love your support in reaching our goal. My friend Carol, of Scraps and Pieces of Our Lives, is leading the pack with 6 donations quilts bound and finished and going out the door tomorrow!! Way to go Carol *VBS*!!! Come on Michele...she's set the pace in reaching the goal of 19 finishes!
And last, but not least, welcome to my corner of WI today *VBS* If you've forgotten last winter, Mother Nature is here to remind you. It's a huge storm, reaching back all the way to the Rockies and as far south as Nebraska. Hope you don't get it too Amelia!
They say it should be 2-4 inches before it ends. And we've had the temps in the low 30s and high 20s to go with it! Time to dig out the soup kettle I think.

Cute fabric, Finn! Darling quilt prezzy from Julie AND a good thing you mentioned my name and challenge in the same sentence ;) Out of my 12 small projects...13 are now finished! Hooray!!
I'm working on my quilty charitable challenges as we speak. One hand on the computer, the other on the sewing machine. Dang, I wish I was ambi-dexterous, the right hand is challenging the left one and winning ;)
Great job everyone on getting these UFO's done. Ooooh I love those fat quarters Finn. I really like fat quarters...they give you such a variety. Your daughter picked well.
I'm off to bind another quilt. I'll let you know when it's finished.
I love the wall hanging you finished. The colors are so soft and warm. Hugs
You can keep your snow there in Wisconsin...our temps are in the 50's today...gray and overcast. Weatherman is predicting more rain.
You are right about fixing soup...I think I will make stew - but need to get some potatoes first.
Have fun with your quiilting.
Snow in October? I keep telling you to come south. Love your birthday loot and your quilts.
Fun stuff on your post today, Finn, even the winter reminder. I've been working my way through the blogs of all the challenge participants and getting aquainted with many fun new blogs. Thanks for posting the links. I've finished 2 projects and since I'm off to a good start I have added a few more goals for myself. We have a big storm due tonight so I'll be huddled inside finishing up some binding and labeling projects.
Hard to believe you have snow already! Love your gifts of fabric, you lucky girl! You are doing well, that is a sweet finish on that small quilt.
I can't believe you are having all that snow and I am still wearing shorts here in AL. But, of course, that's why we moved south.
I like your little quilt and the binding is a good choice.
I loved my soup pot. For whatever reason, I gave it away. Probably storage issues ... time to get another, I think.
What is your fave soup?
Happy B'day.
Oh Finn, just wonderful birthday gifts! :) For such a very special person! :) I LOVE your little quilt---that is just the sweetest thing---makes me want to pull out that mess of tiny scraps and make on myself. :) And your SNOW---oh, I wish I were there with you---yeah, yeah, I know, I'm nuts but I really miss the snows that we had here when I was a child. There's just something about those 'snow days' that my soul is always longing for, along with the pot of soup on the stove, and a snuggly fire in the wood stove. :)
Happy belated birthday! Looks like you had a good one.
Here I am days late and dollars short . . . . but keeping the birthday party rolling *s* Happy Belated birthday, Finn. Sending smiles and hugs your way!
Ack! It's too soon for snow! We're finally getting the rain we're supposed to have around here. Can't say I'm really happy about it except that we DO need it.
DD did a great job picking out fabrics for you!
OOoooo.... Your DD1 knows her mother's taste in fabric colors doesn't she!?! Lovely fabrics! 8-)
Nice surprize from Julie also! 8-)
Darling little finish Finn! Love it!
My DD1 just started dating a farmer from down your way... somewhere in Wisconsin, though I am not supposed to know about it yet... shhhhhhh.... DD2 is my little birdie... 8-)
Stay well lovely lady!
Happy stitchings!
