and growing moment by moment. I feel like a ring announcer.."and in this corner we have Michele...". Well by now you probably ALL know what is happening here...right? No? Me either!
BUT...here's the latest scoop on the "situation"...
Michele pledged 10 completed UFOs by New Years Eve.
Clare decided to up the ante by saying she would finish her pile of quilts for Q4L(9) IF and WHEN Michele meets her deadline. I tempted Clare with a Q4L (stateside) IF she makes her goal.
This morning I got this letter from UFO challengee
Carol: "Okay I now found out what Q4L are. Just to make this even more fun, if Michele finishes her challenge, Claire finishes her quilts, Finn finishes her Q4L I'll make and donate a Q4L to be given in Canada"
So I let both Michele and Clare know of this new information. And now, a upped ante from
Yankee Quilter, Sio. And here's what she's offering...LOL I will "sweeten the post" and pledge one more Q4L if and when Michele...through Finn finishes.
And that's how the "situation" stands right now. I haven't heard back yet from Michele, but trust me, I will...LOL

It all sounds like so much fun, Finnie! I am stickin' to my three finishes...maybe small, maybe largish!! but three it is!!
Well it sounds like the race is on. I'd best jump in before it's too late. If Siobhan finishes hers, I'll make one for Q4L also.
I have collapsed with laughter AND delight. Unfortunately, both wrists, my back and behind went out yesterday and I'm reaching for a water bottle form the sidelines. One thing I know how to do is pace myself or I'll be in sewing spasms as well as laughter. I worked in my yard today with wrist splints on and took in some sunshine to raise my energy quotient. Oh, my goodness sakes alive, it looks like I have to succeed now, even if I have to put the sewing machine on the floor so I can sew sitting on my haunches and using my elbows. Heck, I sewed one handed with a pencil in my mouth to push the fabric last January when I broke my wrist. I can still do this! I think I can, I think I can. Somebody pass me an Advil, please and help me push on the pedal ;)
What a riot. However Finn, just think more quilts for charity all because of this challenge. I love it!! Can't wait to hear from Michele!!
So because of a few unwise words written by me a few days ago I now stand to get some 13 quilts for Quilts 4 Leukaemia, including mine!
Awesome.
Keeping going Michele! I'll send over an intravenous drip for the Advil!
This is just hilarious!! Can't wait to see the frenzy of finishing...I still haven't completed one from last year's challenge...Shame!!
Ann-Maree in Sydney..who will also complete and donate a quilt to Quilts for Keeps in Sydney Australia if the challengers complete the course!!
LOL - poor Michele! I'm not sure I could take the pressure she's under now!
Dear Finn,
An update on the situation for everyone. I've just posted this message to Michele on the Liberated Quilters message board so have witnesses!
"Dear Friend
Don't feel you've got to do it. As far as I'm concerned, the challenge is on whether or not you complete your side of the bargain.
I don't want you to have a nervous breakdown and I do realise that this isn't exactly the best of times in the US holiday schedule to hold a challenge, birthday's not withstanding.
I plan to start on 1st Jan whether you've finished or not, so don't feel that because of me you've got to bust a gut (or a wrist)."
The challenge is on, whether that Mad Woman in Oregon finishes or not!
Crazy English Woman Living in France LOL
xx
Dear Finn,
And Michele says to the doubters:
My Life: Crazy Strings A Minute
I'm in, Clare's on, and all of the rest of Finn's quilt challenge tag alongs linked to me on down, had better get their sewing rooms ready and their machines delinted!
Have you noticed, Finn...this feels just like we are building our own Orphan Train...and we're the Orphans lining up in our little train cars...all getting on board and one car, linked to the next!
All aboard!!!!!!!!
