They say three strikes and you're out..so out I go..with the third and final (?) sampler of my life time. This one is called Internet Antics..and I did it with a internet friend from Delaware. We met on the WWQP bulletin board, and became friends. She wanted to do a sampler, and she chose the patterns..I made one to keep her company..it was lots of fun. We didn't see each others til we were finished. They are quite different. The 9 12" bocks are just about right, I think. Machine pieced, hand quilted. 2002 Posted by Picasa

Yeah, I would never looks at any of these quilts and immediately know, oh Finn made this.
I'm wondering how you define "sampler" tho. I think orphan quilts can be samplers in that they have a bit of this and a bit of that... They're just put together differently and not so matchy-matchy.

I think you hit the nail on the head there Ton. In Samplers, it's like you are showcasing each block..which is hard for me to want to do, and to actually do it. It's like each is in a window or something.

With the orphans I'm beginning with blocks that didn't quite make the "grade"..the left out and left over ones...LOL. Very much like the Island of Misfit Toys. And in the quilt I make with them, I'm creating a playground just for them..at least in my mind..*G* For me, there is NO expectation of what they will become.

I like this one, Finn. Must be the colors you used -- doesn't look like the typical sampler.

You made a lot samplers :c). I love to see them.I am happy that we can make the pieces these days with a ruler and a cutter. So I don't use templates:c)
