The Big Woods..second in a series of quilts honoring Laura Ingalls Wilder. A friend in DE who liked my first quilt(the red and brown 9 patch) did this same one in her colors. My colors were browns, greens, golds with an off white background. I had hoped the stars would be more prominent, but the browns are too strong. Flying geese are leftovers from a differen quilt. Machine pieced and profesionally machine quilted. It is about double bed size and lives with DS#1.

Oh, nice! This is a STRONG quilt - "Woods" is a good name for it. Whew, all those geese!
Lovely! Nice color scheme, very maculine.
Finn,
That is a beaut! I just love seeing how everyone puts different colors and patterns together! That is what makes this "SEW" much fun!

Lovely quilt !! I love the laura Ingalls Idea :c) I have now 4 dvd boxes from the serie! and with dutch subtitle !!!!!
I keep thinking I have seen my favorite in your quilts then you bring out another one I think I like better! LOL 2 of the grandchildren are here this week and they want to learn how to sew. We are sewing quilt squares. They are doing pretty good (better than grandma) Will post pictures when they get a little more along.
Super quilt - I like how the flying geese add a touch more color! Almost like a plowed field with wild flowers on the edges.
Cheers!

Love your Big Woods, Finn. I like the colors, too.
It reads very masculine, which is hard to find somedays!
What a wonderful post, Finn. Your home is just as I imagined it. Warm and lovely. If I ever get my space cleared I'll post pictures, too. (It'll probably be next June or so.) LOL.
Thank you for sharing the great pictures.
