Things are gray and gloomy ourside my window this morning. I think we are approaching the 2 week point with no sunshine. I'm working on the saw tooth stars baby quilt, which I must get into the frame yet this week. My DD#1 needs it next week. But a silly ole' bear's gotta play..*G* So I whipped up a couple of these this morning. They measure 6", this time, and Betsy and I call them "mug rugs". It's a left over beginning(snail trail) a couple of layers of cotton batt and a piece of backing. Works great under coffee or tea mugs. I don't need more of them, but it's a good play time. Still need to stitch the binding down on the back. And now I feel more like getting back to work..*S* Hope there are no "grumpies" in your day. Posted by Picasa

I make lots of mug rugs too. They are a good way to use up extras!

Love the little mug rugs. Hope the play time is helping you get over the grumpies.

I'd never thought of quilted mug mats (duh, not too bright some times) all mine are woven. These are really cute; would be a wonderfully easy gift with a mug and some tea for someone...

Glad you are feeling up to a little play again! The Mug Rugs might be just what the doctor ordered.

Cheers!

Those are very pretty! You always inspire me dear Finn. I love to come see what you are doing. About your comment about the puzzle colors. You know, I didn't think about it but you are right, the colors play against each other wonderfully the deep red and the very white horse...no other color would have done so well for the artist. Sometimes we don't realize it but the artist plays upon our senses to appreciate the beauty in life all around us. Is not so? I'm way behind in emails and blogging but am starting to get back 'toit'. Hugs to you Finn!
