Where to run the stitches is a challenge we all face as we piece new quilts. With these 2.5" triangles, I didn't want to do the .25" inside each one...way too many of them. It would have been "overkill". What I decided to do was what I call "boxing" it. The four darks coming together were treated as a square...quarter inch inside and quarter inch outside. Then you you move out to the "frame" of the box. It treats the design as if it were on point with setting triangles...and of course, it isn't. In the outer border, I quilted 2 of the 3 sides both light and dark. The quilting kind of echoes the shape of the piece.
