Open Borders....altho, no borders would be more correct. Some stash reduction taking place. The cream colored fabric with the flags says "2000". That was what it was printed for...and altho there were quite a few patriotic fabrics available for Y2K, it was nothing compared to what came right after 9/11.I had bought a yard or two of the cream, but the red with tiny white dots, and the navy with stars are both older fabrics. I like this simple "Sticks and Stones" block from a Thimbleberries book. It makes up fast. Mine is 60" X 72". All I'm showing you is a fourth of it. Now to get some borders on and see what comes next. Thank you all for your concern, prayers and support as I deal with the ongoing eye problems...*VBS* It's not going to go away, it's just a matter of "better" or "worse", as is much in life. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Posted by Picasa

Glad you can still get some sewing done, even with the eyes!! Hopefully they will imporve soon and you'll be back to near normal.

Love the patriotic quilt!

Of Finn I really like the sticks and stones pattern - I'm a real fan of rail fence quilts and that is just a bit special with the squares in between - simplicity always looks so effective with the right choice of fabrics and this is great :o)

Super quilt - really effective, I like the block design. You know the trouble with these blogs is that every time I decide what to start next another great idea comes along. Glad you are feeling well enough to quilt and hope that it continues on the 'better' track.

Finn, sorry to hear about the eyes. Last year when I had my bout of optic neuritis (spelling?) I ended up buying a bagful of $1 glasses at Micheals...depending on the day (or time of day!) I could change out the magnification. I also stocked up on cheap sunglasses and wear them all the time. Both have helped. It is frustrating though. Hang in there!

That turned out cute, Finn! Is the quilt going to be for WTIL or for a child or friend?

Wow check out those knock-out colours! They look so great together. No wonder the US flag 'works' so well.

Yes, I suppose you're learning to *manage* those eye problems. Part of life yes but still very annoying!

At least you can still quilt!

that is really cute, Finn. I am working on my own version of RWB, thanks to some blocks that Cher sent. A bazillion 4 patches on the set I picked out--what was I thinking? LOL

Glad you feel up to piecing!

You sure are amazing Finn. A lot of people would sit around bemoaning their woes. Yet here you are still quilting away in any manner you can on things that look great! Kudos for you and my prayers that you have many more good days than bad. :)
