Conclusion. Sharing...I suspect this book isn't one you can "just" find. I think you will have to go looking for it. It's worth the search. I found mine on e-Bay..$3 or $4- I think without the shipping. Mine is hardbound and a book club edition, so I can't tell you the original selling price. Tell me please, if you have an ideawhat year this book was published??(*wicked grin*) I'll post the year of publication tomorrow...*S*..honest!

Finn,
I would hazard a guess that the book was published in the late '70s. Jean Ray Laury was one of the pioneers of the "rebirth" after the bicentennial.
I don't remember when it was published, but I bought an original. I don't remember what it cost, either, but lots less than if it were published today.
It was 1973 when an article published by Jean, maybe in Good Housekeeping, restarted my quilting career, which had been stalled for about 5 years, due to lack of resources - mine and the world's.
Things have surely changed since the day when one quilter could own every book published on the subject, and Quilter's Newsletter was the only truly national quilting magazine!
My guess would be 1973 -- not sure why except that Jean Ray Laury published a couple of books in the 70's, I believe.
She talks about Dacron batting, so I'm guessing mid '70's myself. :) The seventies where big on polyester!
My guess is 1972. Pretty sure it was in the 1970's at least...
I LOVE that flag quilt. Marvelous.
