Wednesday Morning happenings..*VBG*..My taskmaster seems to be sleeping in this morning and I got a chance to play...*G* I just HAD to try Tonya's tea pots. I decided I'd make mine in Christmas fabric, and there is an orphan blocks quilt in progress, using things Christmas. I showed you quite a few of those blocks back between Nov. and Dec. It's not hard to piece the teapot....altho I'm a bit stuck on the handle...three unsuccessful trys and I'm to where I may just do a U shaped one...LOL. I've gone back and re-read Tonya's directions, but I seem to have trouble thinking backward...Hmmmm, maybe if I just flip my pot over and lay out the handle so it matches her facing right directions...I'll give it another go. For referance, my pot body is about 4-5" square. Posted by Picasa

Adorable, Your handle will come. I know you can do it, just experincing a bit of a mental block. How about a cup of Christmas tea?

I think what you have to consider if I remember right is starting with the piece of rect. background and adding tiny trianlges to each edge so you "snowball" the edges...knocking them off in your xmas color fabric. Then you sort of do that again to the larger handle shape by "rounding off" the corners by adding backgrd back onto the xmas fabric.

That sounds awful, but if you read it while looking at her pics it might help.

I'm so jealous of you getting to your teapot. I know you will design a great handle. Cooler here today and I spent the day weeding in my yard and visiting a friend. This made it a nice day too but no teapot in progress.

What a fabulous idea. The christmas teapot looks great.

A handle is made the exact same way, no matter which side of the pot you sew it onto. So go ahead and follow the pictures for making the red one. Although a U-shaped one will work great too!

A christmas orphan quilt with a teapot! Oh it's gonna be wonderful.

Love your little teapot. I can't wait until I have time to try one too. There's something about teapots and quilts that just go together!
