In the pink....
The tooth is out, hurray for that. It went well, and amazingly enough, I am not in any pain. Kept the second appointment, and can cross that one off the list. Still the MRI tomorrow morning, and a second appointment at no0n. Then I'm done for awhile, I hope.
Tonight I'm sharing more vintage fabric. Not quite as old this time, but enough to be vintage. The pink floral on the left is a yardage of 36" fabric. I know they were making it 36" in the mid 1950's when I took a home ec class in junior high. The fabric on the right is a feed sack, compete with the holes along the sides from the stitching. It's a newer fabric design than those of the 1930's. I don't think it was a flour sack, as the holes are a bit too widely spaced for that..probably chick starter or cow mash. Both are very useable, and I will, some day...LOL. Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes, I truly appreciate your friendship...*VBS* Posted by Picasa

so glad you are a big step forward on your list of appointments-hurray for no more tooth pain! I have some calico fabric-yardage that is 28.5 inches wide...how old do you suppose that is?
thanks for posting.

it'll be wonderful for you to not have that tooth pain... its amazing how much energy a chronic pain like that zaps... Here's hoping that you're careful and the clot doesn't loosen in the socket where the tooth was until its well healed -- no sucking on straws or anything else for that matter!! :-)

Finn, I'm so happy to hear that everything went well for you today. And especially that you aren't in any pain - what a blessing!

I love the vintage fabrics you are sharing. What treasures! I remember choosing 36" wide cotton for my first sewing project in Home Ec. in 7th grade. It was a bright green with bright cheddar yellow flowers. I thought it was beautiful! I made an apron from it. I've no idea what ever happened to it. I had a horrible teacher - almost everything I learned about sewing before I went to college I learned from my mother.

I'm glad all went well with your appointments yesterday. I was thinking about you while I was in the chair having my root canal! Good luck with the MRI today...

Glad you are coming along so well on the health front. Wherever do you find all these great vintage fabrics?

Ahhh relief from pain. I can only imagine how much better you must feel. And checking off more appts. from your list. Now you can get back to doing the things you enjoy most to fill your days.
Love the fabrics. You have quite a vintage collection. I have a vague memory of fabrics coming in different widths and pattern packets providing necessary fabric amounts based on that. All of the bolts looked the same size to me -- so it was hard to understand what all that cyphering was about *s*

Glad everything went well -- hope today goes just as well.

Still more appointments? You are going to meet yourself coming and going at this rate.

I love that pink on the right--what fun to see the fabrics you have in your collection!

The vintage fabrics are so much fun to see and very pretty! Sorry to hear you've been having tooth trouble. We are having a lull in the storm for now..and don't mind not seeing our dentist at all!

Those fabrics are delicious, Finn.
I can empathize with your doctor app'ts, believe me.
I've decided that since getting older really sucks, I'm going to stop right where I am. How about you?

Ouch! :( Happy you're not in any pain, and really happy that the problem child tooth is gone!

I have to do the mega antibiotics, too, before dental work. Always have an upset stomach from them, but they're a necessary evil.

Love the fabrics! I've been saying I'm going to get in my old fabrics and see what's what, but haven't had a chance so far.

Hope you continue to be pain-free!

((HUGS))

Hooray...No pain!
Hugs to your dentist for treating you well and sending you home pain free. I hope they find a fixable problem with your MRI tomorrow...I'm sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way.

So glad that went well for you!
I remember 36" fabric from Home Ec too! (36, 45 and 54) so many choices!

Chick starter? I thought chicks started from eggs? *vbg*

I absolutely abhor dentists... but have an appt. the first week in September. Uggh. Hope your other appt.s go well too!

Hi Finn, just catching up since I've been away. Sorry to hear that you've been having problems, pain-wise. Hope it's all sorted now that the offending tooth is out and you can get back to doing what you enjoy.

Finn, I'm soooo pleased that you're feeling better. Hopefully this is a sign of great things to come!
That fabric is way too cute. I have a feedsack that is very similar looking to the one on the left. I love to play with my feedsacks, they're just so lovely and soft.
*hugs*
