The coming of Autumn...Miss Autumn has begun her long slow dance of chilly nights, gorgeous days, brightly colored leaves, that dance on the wind. All day the corn harvest and last balings of the straw rumble on the horizon. The school bus lurches and roars onward towards education, and in the distance, the Canadian Geese gather and begin the trek southward. My summer sunflowers and Miss Liberty give way to the harvest of orange and gold. Welcome to my little home..*VBS* It's autumn.
And on my little patio(and it is LITTLE), this wax begonia bloom for all it's worth. It seems to love the warm days and cool night, and puts on a show far superior to any of it's summer blossoms. I'll try to save it, as Miss Autumn brings the last stages of her dance...the frost. It won't like
the house as well though, but I will try.
The last picture is a "tease", the back, a detail of the quilting, on a quilt I'll show you tomorrow..*VBG* On the sewing front, I've made 4 blocks now of the butterfly challenge. I could show you the challenge fabric, but sorry, you can't see the "project"..hehehehe! "After later", as my youngest son use to say...*VBS*..then you can see it. Hoping you all have sun on your shoulders today...*S* Posted by Picasa

Good morning, Finn. Such a lovely way with words, you have, my friend! :) I can't wait to see the front of your quilt! Sunshine falls genty on my shoulders today...and gentle breezes ruffle my hair as I fill the goldfinches' feeder. :) I hope you have a glorious day!

Hi Finn! Love the Welcome Autumn sign and your lovely cool-weather flowers! But the beautiful quilting is my favorite! The back of quilts is sometimes the best part, but looking forward to seeing the front. You tease!

You are such a tease! You know you have us all on pins and needles waiting to see what you are doing! Love your "Welcome" sign. It's past time for me to get my fall things out. Hopefully this weekend.

Well aren't you just a little stinker? You tease us with your photos when we just want to see it all. Greedy little quilt bloggers *s*
I wanted to tell you that I think one of your little hummingbird friends may have been in my garden on Monday. Of course, she could not bother to be still long enough for me to fetch the camera and send along a photo and greeting to you.
Anxiously waiting tomorrow's post ....

We begin to see a bit of autumn here in my part of Texas. It's still mid 90s during the day but in the mornings I've noticed a little "nip" in the air. A welcome change from the intense heat we've had.

I like your little tease. :-) Love the way the quilting design shows on the back. I guess I'll have to be patient and wait until tomorrow to see the front.

Quilted cables are great! Autumn has arrived in the high country here. The news helicopters show a great display of aspens. What a way to see them. Some day I'll get to see a different colored foliage. Enjoyed your Welcome Autumn sign -- my favorite season. /paula

Forget the top, just show this wonderful back of the quilt. I'm glad someone likes fall but it's not me. It has ragweed and the days are getting shorter. I don't like either one. :(

Looks like a pinwheel?? and the quilting looks fantastic.

I see I better at least start cutting my butterfly out though I'm looking at something that mightchange my mind about the pattern choice.

Gotta love the shift to autumn--it has been a chamber of commerce gorgeous day here. Humidity and temperature both down though DJ came home from golf with soaked socks--the morning dew in overtime, I guess.

Happy fall! I love this time of year! Our leaves haven't quite started to change, but should be soon.

I love the quilting on the back of your project. Can't wait to see the front.

Finn...you're just a tease!!!
The back of that quilt is pretty fancy and I can't wait to see the front.

I was going to post about fall today, but blogger was moving very slowly and I knew it would never allow me to post my pictures so I gave up.

As my Dad would say, "You snooker!" Can't wait to see the front of that beauty. The quilting is lovely!

Your flowers are so pretty. Maybe my little teeny patio would look perkier if I'd put some color out there! Hmmmm.....

And LOVE those fabrics, especially the yellow! Beautiful!

I love the two different cables quilted in teh borderd. looks gorgeous already. The weather has gotten cooler here, but other than that, there's no difference here. Still feels the same, not autumnal at all.
