On a rainy Wednesday, there was an old woman who got a new cat. The cat that came was as black as a bat! "No time have I for kittens, or such as that"...just one grown up furry black cat. The cat looked around, but no where did see, any kind of mice, and thought "how can this be?"
"My goal for the day, my purpose to be...I'm meant to catch mice...getting fed for free"
The woman in her hat, sat down for a 'think', "there must be something here, under the sink? She poked and she searched and looked high and low. But nothing was found, except for a bow. "This will never do", she said, "the poor cat needs something before going to bed". So she cooked up a custard, done to a T, & it worked out perfectly for Ebby and she...*VBS*.
The End.

Well, well, how clever we are! Cute story! Makes me want to go out and get a cat for me. But, daughter & her cat just moved out, and I'm kind of enjoying having the space (and my quilts) to myself.

Mine would be happier with tuna juice than custard though! Even though it's 'spring water' they prefer that to any other treat. :)

So nice. Love the story. My little Frida came in yesterday with a big wound on her ear. She probably had been fighting with another cat outside. And she felt very very sorry for herself. Needed a lot of hugs from us.

Custard sounds WAY better than mice!

My cats love the tissue paper too. Whenever we get a package with tissue, the tissue goes right on the floor. Just threw a ragged piece away that had been sitting out for days. It was the object of many, many games.

Enjoyed your great rhyme!

Finn, I was once told we sometimes receive cats that become cat angels to watch over us, I've been lucky enough to have two, I think you've found yours. Nancy in MT
