Saturday night...and except for the wind, it's all quiet
my corner of the world. It's been a busy day. Errands to run, groceries to buy, prescriptions to fill.
I did manage to satisfy(almost)my urge to sew. I began sewing triangles together from the mish-mash of cut triangles. About 10 or 12 triangles into it, the machine made a burrrrring noise and stopped sewing. Usually that happens when the bobbin hits a glitch, or the thread breaks. So I turn it off and then turn it on again, and took out the bobbin and cleaned up the mess. Well, today the mess was having no part in co-operating. I did all the normal things, but the fly wheel still won't turn, and the power doesn't move anything. It's like it's frozen up. So I puttered a bit, made no head way and finally just pressed the pairs I had sewn and sorted some other stuff.
I'll give it another try tomorrow, and if that doesn't work, I'll pull out the very, very, very old Viking and see if it works. I gotta sew!!! And doesn't it just figure...that now when I am in the mood, the sewing machine isn't?
Ebby is doing quite well. We've finished the 3rd week and gradually she gets more comfortable with me. Today she's been checking out my face by putting her paws on my chest, and actually getting her face close to mine. She still doesn't want to be picked up and held, but we're getting closer to that too. So far not too many complains about the reduced amount of food, which has surprised me. I cut her back from what the other mama was feeding her, and the vet cut it back even more. The vet thought she'd really hate it and give me quite alot of grief, but so far she hasn't. There is a tiny bit of dry left the next morning, so she's not even finishing the 1/2 c. daily she now gets.
She is well muscled and quite active, and having me home all day helps that I think. She races around quite often, and like the fabric balls I roll for her. A friend stopped over Thursday evening, and Ebby even got up on the couch to smell of her and let herself be petted. She showed off her white bikini belly and was just plain silly...LOL.
For how black she is, what's funny is that on her belly she has 2 white spots, about 2" each in appropiate places, and a medium sized white V right where you'd need it..LOL Just makes me giggle, as there are no straps...a stringless bikini...too funny! Hope everyone had a great day..*S*

What a funny image - a bikini-clad overweight black cat running and playing around your house! She sounds like just the entertainment and company you will enjoy during the long winter ahead.

Bad news about the sewing machine, hope you get it straightened out soon.

Hope the rest of your weekend goes well!

Give the bikini girl a hug from Whiskers and Dimples (and me) sounds like she is very happy with her new mom. Good luck with the sewing machine. I would have ended up giving it a good kick and only hurting myself!

Sorry to hear your maching isn't cooperating, how frustrating!! Hope it shapes up soon.

And your cat sounds too cute!

Hope you have a great Sunday!
God bless :)

Drat -- that sewing machine needs a good talking to. Doesn't it know it MUST cooperate when Finn NEEDS to sew. Why does it always seem to go this way? Sometimes just waiting until the next day will put my machine in a better mood.
So glad you and Ebby are getting more and more cuddly. A bikini, huh? Maybe she would like to come out here to the beach *s*

Sounds like Ebby is becoming more and more yours. How nice to have a friend near by even if it is only to have them stand on your chest and look in your eyes!

Hope that sewing machine works itself loose this morning for you!

I can see that the bikini clad black Ebby is bringing you much joy and companionship and will be nice to have near on those cold wintery nights.
