This and that.....I received this lovely ATC in the mail from a very dear friend, Darcie...she's October Child working with her hand dyed fabrics...Thank you so much for thinking of me Darcie, I love it!! It goes up on the BB in my sewing room where I can see it every day..*VBS*
And I thought since so many chickens have been popping up here in blogland, I'll show you mine. I've had her for 6 or 7 years...all the way back to when the pattern first
came out. Mine is a "banty" hen...done in the orange and rust coloration. Orginally the pattern instructed to use felt for the single layer beak, and the comb. There are several variations on that now, including prairie points. She contains millions of little white eggs(actually plastic pellets). Way back then the tail feathers were cut from 1/4" strips and tucked into the cross seam that forms her rear end.
Her is a view from the back end. She wasn't pleased about this particular shot of her...LOL Too much BEHIND...hehehe!
And this is the upside down view...full tail disclosure and her belly seam...she's quite angry with me, so I left her out in the front room til she cools down. Posted by Picasa

I love how the tail is done on yours. I may have to give that a try if "mabel" has siblings....

Those chickens certainly have personality. Everyone should have one to keep themselves humble. Lol.

I don't blame her for being cross. Keep her safe from a certain cat..

I'm so glad that you're enjoying your postcard, Finn! "...when this you see, think of me...."

Your chick is adorable. We had Bantams one year...oh, they're sweet! And the roosters won many-a-cock-fights over the *regular* roosters! Small but mighty! Love your chick's tailfeathers!
