Time travel........and today sure feels like a good day for doing just that. Every year I say "I wish they would just leave it(the clock) the same...one way or the
other. I really don't care much which it is, but I hate the changing back and forth.
I just don't think our bodies or meant for this sudden shift. Now that I'm retired, I can just leave the clocks the way they are for a few days. Gradually I'll switch them over. Once my body begins to get used to the earlier daylight and early dark.
I'm not sure I've ever missed posting on my blog as much as this past week. That's probably why my world is out of kilter...*VBS*
The quilt above(and I guess you can call it a quilt, it's 3 layers) is a very early 1980's creation. Using the very popular VIP printed panels...LOL. I cut the letters apart, used a red pindot for lattice and add the row of eyelet lace once we knew the baby was a girl. It's been so long I'm not sure if it's quilted or tied. The little one who received the quilt is now all grown up. I don't know if the quilt still exists or not, except in the picture. Those very early baby quilts weren't flannel backed. I began that with my second grandson born in 1996. Everyone loves the flannel backing, but it doesn't do much to reduce my stash of cottons.
Ebby and I continue to get acquainted. We have begun week 5, and she's much more daring now. She doesn't jump every time I move or cough, and is actually beginning to really explore the house in detail. She manages to be in the room and near where I am working, even if that means she has to leave the sheepskin she love, and come into the room where the computer is...*VBS*
We had a visitor again on Thursday evening, and like the week before, Ebby put on a full performance for my friend. We were tearing fabric strips, and Ebby loves that. Everyone is a foe to be jumped upon! She does very well at grabbing them in her teeth and taking off with them...LOL Hope everyone had a good weekend, and some sunshine on their shoulders.

Finn, I simply could not agree more!, the time change is so annoying and hard to adjust each time we do it!! Why oh why can we not just leave it one way or the other!!! :O).....
Good to hear you and Ebby are doing so well with each other!! :)
Glad to see you back. I don't usually worry too much about the time change although my hubby and mother will moan for weeks that the shift has messed them up! It's always something to kid him about.
Oh Finn, it's so good to see you back! I've really missed you--and even tho I've joined Bloglines, I kept checking your blog just in case it hadn't notified me that you had posted. :D I love hearing that you and Ebby are growing more accustomed to each other, and that she's learning to trust you enough that she will play with the fabric strips. I can just picture her nabbing it and racing away with it...LOL
Certainly a precious bundle on your 1980 quilt! Missed your happy presence - I check first thing every day to see if you've posted.
You know - I love having it stay light so late in the evenings in the summer. The problem with leaving it that way is that it would still very dark in the morning when little children are walking to school or waiting to catch the bus. I remember during the energy crisis of 1974 they tried daylight savings time in the winter so less light would be used in the evening. All the parents complained about the dark in the morning so they changed school hours to start one hour later - totally defeating the purpose. The government didn't try that again.
what a sweet picture! and I am with you on the clock change - it sure seems to throw most of us off for at least a few days

If she's following you from room to room, then it sounds like the two of you have really bonded. :)
Hi Finn, Glad you are back. That surely is a sweet baby quilt (and a sweet baby, too *s*)
I don't fuss too much over the time either since I don't have too much of a schedule to keep -- I just work on dinner according to the clock for Hubby.
My continual complaint come, DST on or off. Just think, we get to do for a few extra weeks next year. How that saves energy I have never figured out--I blame Nixon for the whole deal, LOL. It is not that I have to keep a schedule but it just screws your whole body rhythms off and I have problems enough sleeping as it is.
Okay enough commiserating from me. I am happy to hear that Ebby is making herself right at home with you. Cannot see why she wouldn't find a loving home with you! Those furry ones can bring lot of enjoyment and entertainment. Mine is curled up in her perch in the sewing room as I write this. Go look at the start I have with the toad fabric if you get a chance?
Glad to hear that you and Ebby are getting along so well.
I don't pay much attention to the time except for watching my morning show, Y & R...that's the only tv I watch and for doctor's appointments. The cats wake me up with their persistent meowing.
I really don't like changing all the clocks, but the extra hour was nice today. Glad Ebby is making herself more at home as time goes by. I'm sure she's great company!
Love that photo-and it seems the little one doesn't mind that you used a VIP panel at all!
That's great that Ebby will come and play with the torn strips - instead of hiding cuz there is a visitor and scary noise.
I agree totally on the time change!! It takes me forever to get adjusted. Why don't "they" just split the difference and do a one-time 30 minute change and be done with it, for Pete's sake!!! Love the early baby quilt.
Welcome back. I love using prepinted panels when there is a need. Glad to hear you and Ebby are getting along so well.
What a sweet baby and cute quilt! Does Ebby have her own quilt yet? I bet she would like a flannel one, maybe one with mice on it!
Hope you are enjoying this season, try to stay warm!
I agree.. fall back jump forward .. what a pain. I just ignore most of it and sleep and eat when I want .. That is the great part about retirement.. Loved your red work letters.. What a treasure. Glad you and Ebby are doing so well.
Can Ebby grab the strips with her paws? I love the way my little boy can use his "hands."
I like your idea of changing the clocks when YOU feel like it! And it's nice to know that Ebby is more comfortable in her new surroundings - and to know that she is indeed a quilting cat!
What a beautiful quilt and the baby on it is just precious!! & yes, I wish they would leave the time the way it is and not change things. Hard to get used to, darkness so early. Wishing you blessings!
nice to catch up with you Finn-seems it is hard for everyone who has to go through this clock thing.
That's just adorable Finn :) Look how tiny the little baby is!
Congrats on the new addition to your family. How clever of you to get a black cat just in time for Halloween!
We're getting a cat in the new year for ROmily. Yes, definitely for Romy - not for me. Not at all. LOL
