seem to be the "norm" for me these days. The silence is broken by Ebby, my new friend. She wakes up every time I get up from my chair. She's sure I must be going to the kitchen to give her a treat...sorry Ebby..isn't going to happen. Our unseasonal warmth seems to have come to an end. The 59 degrees of yesterday has given way to a shocking 12 degrees and I think Ebby and I will both enjoy that electric blanket tonight. None of the predicted snow has come, but I understand other parts of the country got plenty the past few days.
I had dr. appointments both yesterday and today, and tha sure does "shoot" the middle out of a prefectly good day. Between the getting ready, the driving time and the actual "waiting" time...so much for that day. But this is the end of the appointments til the 12th of Dec...*VBS*....hurray for days of un-interrupted time. That's one of the best things about being retired. I can sew or do whatever any hour of the day and night.
I've been slack in the sewing department, but am anxious change that...starting tomorrow!!
I had fresh homemade bread and turkey noodle soup tonight...perfect for a cold winter evening. It's still 22 days til winter solstice, but with these icy winds, you could fool me. I have more soup in the frig and several slices of Jean's good bread in case you want to drop by for lunch tomorrow...*VBS* Bring your stitching!!!
Merry Christmas

Turkey noodle and fresh bread sounds great to me! I have a bag of hexagons to drag along with me :)
Lunch sounds great Finn, and I've loads of stitching I could bring too - sadly Taunton in Somerset is just a little bit too far away and I have work to go to - you naughty girl for tempting me :o)
I'll be right over!! It sounds *heavenly* to me about now. Enjoy, dear Finn. :o)
Cold weather is perfect for sewing and soup. We have COLD and lots of snow now so sewing is high on the list of things to do.
Sounds wonderful, Finn! I'll be there Noonish--with sewing in hand! LOL
I'm so green with envy when I hear of you retired ladies enjoying your days doing what pleases you at the time. Someday...someday...someday....
Homemade soup and bread on a chilly day what could be better than that.
Soup sounds good.. Going to make a pot of chicken vegetable..You inspire me all the time.. Thanks Finn.. Enjoy sewing tomorrow..
Oh, Finn, wouldn't it be lovely if we could all pile in on you with our stitching and more soup and bread! I made home made potato soup last night, now you've inspired me bake bread today. Just hope the electricity lasts. It went out once already this morning and stayed out the WHOLE time Alex(Simply Quilts) was on....GRR..came back on just in time for me to see her say goodbye.
I too would be more than happy to pile in a sit for a few days with you stitching, if I lived anywhere near you at all!!
It's nice to have no plans for your day except exactly what you feel like doing!!
You would be so surprised if we all popped in! Beware what you ask for!
Oh Finn, it sounds wonderful . . . I wish I was close enough to join you *s* It sounds as if you have a perfect plan.
Finn, if I could get a ticket to Wisconsin, I would pack my quilting bag and my soup bowl and spend some time with you and Ebby! I love being inside warm and cozy when it's cold and icy outside.
your evenings sound perfect to me.
Those kinds of evenings are my favorite. (Any kind of)Soup is a favorite of mine. May I bring crochet? I'm not sewing right now as I'm involved in a knitting/crochet thing.
Hey hon, thanx for the invitation, I'll be right over ... I'll just go find my passport!
*hugs*

Well durn! I'm too late for lunch today. That soup and bread sure would have been good with the cold snap we had come thru here. I know you can laugh but anything under 40 here and that's COLD!
Quite evenings are good. I look forward to retirement when I can just piddle around doing whatever suits my fancy. I was off the last 3 days and did just about that. Read a bit, sewed a bit, watched a little tv, ate when it pleased me, oh and did a LOT of napping. That long trip to MS and back in just 3 days really wore me out!
Yes, those days with nothing you have to get out and do are wonderful. Jimmy woke up this morning and declared at how wonderful it was that we didn't have to get ready to go anywhere for a change. What delight.
So glad you are enjoying your time with Ebby. I miss your visits.
What an idyllic life! Probably not in reality, I'm sure - but you certainly make it sound that way! The only things missing are a fire in the fireplace and snow softly falling outside. I know you are having such a wonderful time playing with all your scraps - keeping us all dying of curiosity to see how all your new projects turn out. Now that you have such a sweet companion plus a pot of hot soup to eat - what more could you possibly ask for?
I see I am right in step with you Finn, I spent Wednesday night making two pots of soup! These chilly days and even more chilly nights call for some hot soup to warm a body up. ummm, homemade bread doesn't get any better than that!
wish I was retired and could join you.
I'll be over shortly, oh wait, I have a terrible cold, can you just send me soup instead?
I'll bet the soup and bread are all gone :-( But, I'd still love to come stitch a bit with you. When can I come???
Mmm. Soup and bread...comfort foods for sure! Or...shall I say..."fer sure!"
Hope your doctor visits went well, Finn.
Stay warm!
