I am reading on some of the blogs all sorts of problems with postings, comments, being "shut out"
and such. And like the slightly tardy, day late, dollar short person I am, I finally did what was required to switch to Beta. But as luck would have it, the invitation to join was gone from my Dashboard. So I signed into my Google account, and did what they asked of me. Alas, I'm NOT one of the ones who will be switched on the first go-round. Sooooo....
if you like reading what I think about, wonder, observe, etc, please continue to do so. And don't worry about the comment part. I know that my friends and neighbors will be back with their cheery comments when everything is working better again.
I have faith in Blogger and Google, and I am grateful for having had this medium to connect with soooo many of you. I know it's easier when things don't change, but if that were the case, we might not even have this thing called the "web". Who could have imagined world wide connections with the stroke of a typewriter key??? Certainly not me...*VBS* So as Maud would say "put your big girl panties on, and deal with it". It's just an inconvenience...not a disaster...honest! Sending love, hugs, prayers and an angel to watch over you, Finn

Lets see if I can leave a message at your blog FInn. I have been trying to leave messages and can not so I will see what happens today. I have been enjoying your writtings, your have so much introspect into life. Have a great day.
Oh, Finn. So well put. I was just talking to my mom today about the world before the internet. We were having trouble remembering how certain things were done! My little brother can't remember it at all! Change is good. Although it doesn't always feel like it at the time. :)
Wonderfully put! Where did you get that pic, BTW?
The internet is a wonderful way to communicate, but it can be trying to be sure. We can only just keep doing out best to keep in touch until all the wrinkles are smoothed out.
You are right, as usual. We take so much of the internet for granted.
I've been here for sure and now I think it will let me post, as I have gotten the switch handled fairly well. Keep watching, they would offer me the switch for a while then stop then come back again with the offer.
I'm sorry that your neighbor moved, but glad that she will be with her daughter. Maybe Gloria will be a new good friend! Sounds like a great place to live there in your development!
I actually get to post a comment! I have been trying to post comments on several blogs and couldn't and I haven't even switched to beta!
The internet is wonderful. Who would have ever thought you could "email" to people all around the world? As Judy said, keep watching for the invite to switch to beta. Some days I had the invite and some days I didn't, sooner or later you'll be in beta.
What a precious picture you have here...and, I have been afraid to switch. Not being particularly computer savvy. Things come the hard way to my head...grin. The inevitable cometh! Hope thats spelled right and you get my meaning. Beta blogger it will be. Warmest wishs for a Happy Christmas and New Year Dear Finn!
I'm sure your attitude to shange has served you well through life..
The same thng happened to me - I made the decision to switch and the invite wasn't there. I came back later and it was so I guess it is just a case of watching for it. Good luck.
They take the invitation back and forth. However several times lately I've tried and get to the last step and they say I can't be switched!
But I like your philosophy and I've got my big girl panties on now!!
((hugs))
Merry Christmas Finn - I am glad to know you too :)
hi Finn,
I haven't changed to beta yet, but was having trouble leaving comments . Susi-k told me to open Blogger dashboard first and leave it open and signed in while I visit others blogs. That seems to work, so those still having troubles try that. Alternatively stay signed in after making your own blog entry and visit others from there. Hope that heplps. Season's Greetings, from NZ. !
Finn, you always add an element of magic to my day!! I love the woodblock pics accompanying your postings. thanks for making us stop and take a moment to think about LIFE and LIVING amidst all the scurrying around we do during this time of year.
As the book says "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff." I also read somewhere that it is the little irritants that get to us so we should throw out that toaster that always burns the bread, get a key board to hang them on so we can find them, etc. I think the frustation with blogger is we can't do anything to fix it. Another hard lesson about knowing what we can change and what we just have to live with.
Hi Sylvia-I've been on Beta for several weeks and I find I have to open my blog to the dashboard and sign in before I can comment anywhere. Once I do this I have no problem. Also, I ranted on my blog the other day about blogger asking us to click on the "remember me" button and it has never remembered me in the 4 months I've had it. I'm taking a page from your book-it will either get better or I will get Typepad...Merry Christmas and thanks for the entertaining posts all year long.
Hi Finn, lovely to read you, as ever.
Have made the switch, & it seems to be easier, apart from the sign-in business.
Hugs!
Finn, I never did even try to switch over, didnt realize there was a time limit.. (VBG) so I guess I am staying on whatever we are on lol too!
I have a few problems posting on the sites that have switched, but usually within 4 tries my post will go lol...
Knock on wood, more often than not blogger has been letting me post and do pictures, in the beginning I had a rough go at it but that seems to be better now (G) ...
Guess eventually we will all go tot he new system...I do enjoy reading the blogs and seeing the beautiful things people make and such... though I am a tad behind on reading right now!
I finally switched, and it's not too bad. :)
I'm trying to catch up on reading too!
Wonderful posts. I also liked reading about your childhood memories and how things aren't always as bad or as good as we thought.
I guess you could have called me a dreamer and my brother still is a dreamer. I really like reading your posts and I'm assuming that the older girl in the picture is you...She looks like a dreamer.
The blog team sounded the alarm and said it was now time for me to make the change to the new blogger, so I changed...it was relatively simple. I just signed in and went about my business while the techs did their job and switched me over. It took a little longer for the Rebecca site to be added because it does not belong to me.
