After a narrow escape, I rescued my ability to upload pictures. I had tried to load them directly into Picasa. It did NOT recognize my camera, and then promply told my computer "no more pictures". I switched something things around in properties and that worked! So I'm back in business..*VBS* Wish the eye trouble was that easy to solve. Visually, I'm still
limping along. Today I'm giving you one more piece from my folk art collection. A friend of my DD makes these. This one says "touch" below the metal and paper. I love it!!
The second pic is taken against a little doll quilt I made back in the 1980's. I was shop sitting for a friend, and things were slow. So I pulled some scraps from her scrap box, cut 2" squares, or maybe 2.5" by hand, sewed them together by hand, used a piece of flannel for batting, and made a small backing. I did it like a pillow case turn and then quilted it without a hoop. Really was one of those "play" time approaches...LOL
There isn't much quilting, and I should have done a more primative job with the stitching. That didn't occur to me..LOL
Third picture is the full view of it. I love the half heart that looks like a barn with silo..*VBG*
After seeing the little quilt Fiona made, over at http://scraps-in-progress.blogspot.com/ I decided to show this one.
Fiona's is much smaller, only 5" X 7".

Those pieces are adorable, Finn! Oh dear, I do hope your eye clears up soon. Randy is at the dr. about his as I type, so I'm anxious to hear his report. It has been a bit better since I posted about it a while back. He's a man, tho, and stubborn, wouldn't let me try to get him in to the dr. any earlier than his scheduled appt. today. What do you do???? Hugs, dear friend!
I see a bunch of fabrics there I recognize - and I think I have pieces of most of them in my stash still to this day.
So fun to see this little piece. I have some of those exact pieces in my stash as well in those colors. Very cute.
Lovely little quilt.
Good luck with the eye!
Also, love the heart.
I, too, love that little barn and silo. So sorry about the eye, keep resting.
I loved that the "two" of you have different personalities. They both sound very compatible! LOL Tracey
I love the folk art and small quilt. Years ago I made small quilts for teddy bears to hold. I wish I had a digital camera back then so I would have a photo today.
What a lovely perfect little bundle of quilting joy! Just the right size and the perfect project for that day! The stitches are great like they are!
I hope the eye heals quickly. Hubby got a flash burn from welding and has had a devil with his left eye, so he can sympathise at the moment. Feel better.
Hope your eye gets better soon, Finn. Did they punch the word "touch" into the metal? It looks very nice. And did you applique the barn?
Both are darling pieces. Isn't fun to just stitch something up out of little pieces?
Love the folk art, Finn. Thanks for sharing a pic!
And your quilt is darling. I think that we need to allow ourselves more of those play time activities. I do love the binding task...it's relaxing to me. And yet sometimes binding does make the quilt look a little more *fussy*...and I just need *fun and finished!*
Hugs to you!
