Fun times....Fred, Finn and Maggie. Our new baby, and she went everywhere with us. This was taken in Caro, MI in the summer of 1966. A picnic, but I can't remember if my folk were visiting or we were with friends. We lived in Mayville, MI and Fred taught physics and chemistry. We were a happy bunch, lots of teacher friends our same age and in the same boat, financially. I was secretary to the Supt of schools. Adoption plans had not yet crossed our minds. Fred was 26, me almost 26.
This next picture was taken the summer of 1967, while we were visiting my parents in Chippewa Falls, WI. That's where Maggie came from. We had added the timid brittney spaniel to our family. She came to us as a two year old, named Missy with a deep fear of guns. Not much good for bird hunting, which is big in the thumb of MI. We had been to the Northern WI District Fair, where my sister had won the yellow dog. It was a happy time, a teaching contract for another year, and we were about half way through the adoption process in Saginaw.

Your yellow pooch almost looks like Cuddely Duddley! I love the Brittney spaniel! Your life always amazes me!
Ohh -- you make me remember the days we were too poor to even think and too dumb to know it could be a problem *s* Picnics are the best -- good, simple fun. I keep a quilt in the back of my car for impromtu picnics. Everyone looks so happy and carefree -- even the yellow dog.
