Feelin' crumby.....

more ways than one, today. We have cool gray weather, I have caught a cold(or it has caught me), everybody is busy, moving, or in Paducha....darn! So think crumby...right? I did. My twin size mile a minute quilt hasn't been in use for about a year now. Not since I bought the queen sized bed. Yesterday seemed like a day I needed it's color, warmth and randomness. Being under it is like sifting through pebbles looking for flakes of gold, or gem stones. I didn't make this one with pieces as small as Tonya and Bonnie were using in their 'crumb' squares. I do like the variety you get if the
pieces are smaller, but it is a lot of piecing to get a 6.5" blocks with the really tiny bits. In these close ups you can see some small pieces. The bright yellow is 3/4" by 1 1/4"

In this block the brown triangle I added to get a square is about 1" on its straight edges.
As you can see Ebby has no doubts what quilts are for, whether I've gotten the bed made or not. We both slept with the MAM quilt last night. Me under it and her on top of it. The EB was on low under it, and we were both toasty warm.
She has been sleeping more than usual the past few days, I'm not quite sure what to make of that. In the past she followed me around most of the day. She pesters me to play with her, or just reclines on her haunches next to my chair. The sleeping started on Sunday, when she slept most of the day on the bed, same Monday and yesterday. We had a bit of a 'play' with the ribbon being trailed for her pouning pleasure this a.m. but then she came in, got on the bed and has been asleep ever since. She looks fine, is eating and drinking normally, coat still glossy and her eyes and nose are clear. She doesn't seem to hurt anywhere. I just don't know what to make of it. Should I call the vet and ask maybe????

Using the box ok? I hope its nothing. My kitten got sick last month and slept for 3 days and ate less and drank alot until the 4th day went almost into a coma. Took him in and he had a "virus". Amoxicillin fixed him up Rowdier than ever. Keep us updated on your Black Beauty. xoxo melzie

My little spoiled poodle is doing the same thing! I was wondering if the pollen was getting to her.

Finn, have to tell you.... I made 6 burp cloths. Thanks for the directions.

Can't say for sure of course... but Lila sleeps about 16 out of every 24 it seems. Maybe Ebby has finally let down her guard. :D

Did you take her temp? Maybe she is just getting older. Have you put in any new carpet? Keep us posted.

Finn, my doggy fur boys have days where they seem to need more sleep than others, Bargun went thru that for a few days then went right back to being himself...not sure why... maybe they are like us somedays, just low energy days?

My fur babys (2 cats Oni and Booker) have days when they seem to sleep alot..16 hours of sleep is about normal for most cats. And they are normally more nocturnal than us humans. So Ebby may be roaming at night when your getting some shut eye .. coming and going to check on you without disturbing you.. They can be such little characters.. I know booker goes on these sleeping jags and I worry about him. But, no fever or change in eating and kitty litter habits.. I wouldn't worry too much. But will stay tuned.. to hear how the next couple of days go. Love your quilts..

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I know when I had kitties at home they would tend to be "nurses" when anyone was sick. They were a bit quiter, a bit more cuddly, and generally would hang out and sleep with whoever was under the weather. Don't know if it was just them or typical cat behavior -- if it eases your mind, call the vet!

I once read that most adult cats sleep about 23 out of 24 hours!!! Ebby still looks pretty kittenish, though. Never hurts to check things out--just for your own piece of mind. Hope you are soon over your cold and feeling better. I have made a stack of the burp cloths for upcoming babies of friends and relatives. What a great, easy pattern--thanks so much for sharing!

Sorry you haven't been feeling so well, but you have a fun quilt to cuddle under. Maybe Ebby has figured out your routine now so she doesn't have to follow you around to see what you're doing. Just being a kitty and sleeping a LOT.

Thanks for the crumbs and the T-block. Got there right before I left. You're a sweetie!
