Newer Cat ~ Older Orphans

Have you noticed that when I go on an amble or ramble, with my favorite things...words....I sometimes get lost? Yup. But with ambling that isn't a problem because 'to amble' is to wander with no destination in mind. I had a
destination yesterday, but I lost sight of it somewhere just beyond the 'a lots'.
So I'm back today to say what I didn't say yesterday.
I feel so privilged to have you gals read my blog and like what I say or what I show. And being 'tagged'(yup, not nominated, cause this Thinking Blogger thing is a 'meme')honors the heck right out of me. BUT...to received the 'award' part, you must follow the rules. I got so lost in what I was thinking about(including orphans) that I didn't finish my thought on that. I'm not ACTUALLY going to receive this award because I am not going to follow.. ....the rules: The participation rules are simple:
1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn't fit your blog).
Maybe it's not quite as much about site meters as I was willing to think. I could happily list blogs that I find inspirational...not because of their quilts, but because of the kind of person they are. Which is why I read their blogs. And I have no problem with mentioning blogs where I've found something you should take a look at, I just can't accept the format needed for his award.Probably we each have our own 'value' system for determining who we visit and who we don't. And that should be personal, not spelled out on a blog entry.
Borrowing words from Naomi Judd's new Sunday morning program on the Hallmark Channel, at Pieces from my scrapbag, "my door is always open, my heart is never closed, I will help if I can, and you are always wecome here."
And for Tracey(or is it Tracy) who asked about the quilt behind the little girls yesterday....you can find that full post, description of how the quilt came to be, and a couple of pictures at my Nov. 15, 2006 post. And yes, I will eventually learn(or figure out) how to connect you to that...LOL

Thanks for keeping your door always open for me to stop by. And glad you come see me. I don't understand the counters or reason for them. I've always had a problem with only those "chosen" being able to participate in anything. Guess that is what I like about blogland. I don't see any problem in saying thank you for asking but no thank you. I've said nuff and probably too much on your comment blog. I have my own site to say my two cents. HUGS from Katie and kisses from Kipper

Here is how you can connect to a previous post:

1. Go to the post on your blog and click on the time stamp - it appears right after the words "posted by Finn at . . ." This will open the single post in it's own browser window.

2. Copy the URL for that post as it appears in the web address.

3. Choose the word or words in your new post that you will use for your link, and highlight them.

4. On the tool bar, click on the button that looks like two links of a chain on top of a green circle.

5. In the box that opens you will see "http://", and it will already be highlighted. That's because this needs to go away or you'll get two "http://" and your link won't work. Strike your "delete" key and it should go away.

6. Paste the URL for your blog post into the box. Click "OK".

You now have a link to a previous post - yours or anyone else's you want to link to.

I've been tagged too, but... don't like only getting to pick 5, so I've resisted.
