you just never know where a sparkle-spangled day will lead you. After making nice neat corners of the red, white and blue quilts on my bed, and folding back the top to show the red and white checked backing, I had a thought. Why not make some celebration type decorative pillow cases to go with the quilts? Mostly for July, I suppose, but I love red and white. Luckily blue is a good color to use with them...*VBG* I began pulling fabric with stars, etc. And that's when I found this panel, purchased years and years ago.. from the 'Ollie and Me' line in primary colors. Why not buzz up a drag-around quilt for that new grandson for summer? He's 2 months now you know, and will be dragging quilts any day..... Out of no where came a black streak...need I say more?? It was a tussle, but I finally got it pinned and the machine quilting has begun. The backing is a lovely gift of fabric from Evelyn of Starfishy blog....Zander thanks you and the Little Boy Evelyn..*VBS*
One never know what will be unearthed while excavating a sewing room. My 'dig' revealed a bag with 5 finished 12" corner cabin blocks, & 17 more 6" blocks to make more. And I will, a 9 block layout, with just one 6" block extra. Which is ok, because it's ugly!
I think an inner border, narrow, and then a wider one...not sure, but I know I'll be machine quilting it for a quick finish!!! Like by JULY!
"And the rest of the story is....", as Paul Douglas of radio fame would say......yup, she's a full fledged quilt cat now....ready to take the final exam and try for her licence. I think she'll do well, she's very, very quick!

Dear Finn, that last photo is such a beauty!!!! What a calander picture or puzzle picture. I love it! Its fun as always to see what you are up to...grin. I'm learning to spin and have just had a fleece given to me...dirt and all. So I'm a busy gal..and loving it all. A little weary though of hanging over the wash tubs with dirty wool in mesh bags for 2 washs and a rinse or 2 each!
What nice relaxing quilting you and Ebby did. Oh, you got the Paul Douglas thing just right. I didn't remember his name but the words sure register. :)
Ebby has become quite the quilty cat!
Yes, I believe Ebby has lost her amateur status *s* She's a full-fledged professional.
Oh Ebby is just adorable. She looks so comfortable, & at home on the quilts.
Thank you for visiting me, & leaving kind wishes Finn.
Ebby has brought you much happiness and focus; for this I am happy.
I think Ebby has learned what a camera is and how to pose pretty for a picture. Yup, I think she's become a ham.
So many things to comment on...and today so little time!
Love the old Log cabin and really enjoyd this one of Ebby's, I love pin wheels and this is a good scrappy one.
Also thank Ebby for the discussion on dogs and light bulbs, too true!
Regards, Tracey
They just sense something soft being put down don't they, and have to sit on it. My Tabitha is just they same.
Those are lovely blocks that Ebby is sitting down on - don't you just love the way cats tuck those front paws in - she's certainly made herself at home now - it feels like you've always had her :o)
would you please come to my house and unearth a few missing items? Nice quick work on that grandson quilt..of course Ebby has become the best QI of all...!
