I'm dreaming.....

of something like this.....which would be a great relief from our 90+ degree heat! Altho I'm not going to complain, it's MUCH hotter all across the southland from coast to coast!
The Universe had other plans for me this weekend. The delightful trip to see some of my grandsons(including the newest one, Zander)got cancelled unexpectedly Friday night. I had turned off the bedroom light and crossed the room to open the window a bit wider and adjust the blinds. When I turned back to go to bed,I caught my big toe(left foot) in the laundry basket and a took a full length "header" across the room. I grabbed for something that wasn't there, and took the full impact on my left knee, right shoulder and forehead! Definitely NOT a graceful landing. I saw multicolored stars, a flash of white light and maybe Daffy Duck dashing past..LOL. Amazingly I didn't knock myself out completely and I didn't break anything. For that alone I am most grateful and blessed. My left knee is much worse for the impact, too stiff to bend and very painful. Getting up and down from a chair requires some thinking.
My shoulder is stiff, but it mostly works, and I managed not to give myself a black eye when I hit my forehead.
I thought maybe I could still manage the trip, but morning brought a whole new set of things to deal with, and 7 hours in a truck didn't seem intelligent. I got hold of DD#1 and she asked DH to ride along, which he did. THe packages got delivered to the grandkids and all's well that ends well.
I've slept quite abit off and on yesterday and today, seems odd, but it must be what my body needs. I'm less stiff tonight, but I'm not jumping over any boxes or laundry baskets. I've learned my lesson, next time I'll put the clean clothes away right away!

Oh, ouch! I think a fall shakes us up more than we realize. Take it easy. Don't rule out medical care if all is not better soon.

Ut oh, unhappy knees are no fun. Can you visit your physician for advice on anti-inflammatory prescription, hot packs, cold packs, etc.

Sorry to hear you hurt yourself and missed a fun trip to see grandchildren. Why do these things happen when there is something fun/important to do? Our weather here has cooled off a bit so the snowplow looks less enticing. Lol.

Oh, shoot. So sorry to hear of your fall. Did you see your doctor? He/she might prescribe something to help. Take care.

Oh Finn - I am so sorry! Falling is such a very scary thing, especially as we get older. (Notice I don't say OLD - we are NOT OLD!) The worst thing was having to miss your trip. Take care and feel better really soon!

Oh how awful! I am so glad you did not do any serious damage. That daffy duck has a mean streak!!!

Oh, too bad. Both the injuries and missing the family. I bet you will use the old age shuffle at night from now on. I sure do. Just move feet but don't pick them up. No triping and bumping shins. Let your body tell you what it needs to heal.

Oh darn - I'm so sorry you had to cancel your trip. Do take care of yourself and don't overdo. Those kinds of falls can really take the wind out of your sails - ask a clumsy girl like . . . I've got LOTS of experience *s*

O My, Finn. I'm so sorry you had to miss your weekend. I don't fall down, but if there's a door jam around I'll run into it. You take care of yourself and relax with a nice cuppa.
