I've been sitting this afternoon, quilting on Sunday's little project. It occurred to me that I could show you the half hoop in action. And here it is *VBS* I have the center quilted as of last night, and moved on to the borders today. I also have taken additional pictures of my Country Roads UFO from a couple of weeks ago. A reader had asked about it and I sent along pictures and measurements of the block. Here they are for you, if you are interested. The block is an 8.5" block.
This is a half block, made of a 4.5" squares and partnered with 3 2.5" HSTs and 1 2.5" square. Very easy piecing.
This in one complete block. All the blocks should look like this, but then there are several ways to lay them out, including barn raising.

That looks like a great and easy block! I love scrappy quilts and will have to remember the pattern.
I finished 6 projects in September. Only 2 of them were off the list I gave you, but I've pretty much re-done my list. Thanks to encouragement from friends like you, I'm on a roll and getting stuff done.
Keep up the good work!
Thats going to look awesome. What an easy (high-impact) block. ~jen~
Love your quilting. Great color mix, too.
What pretty blocks. And your quilting is so pretty.
That half hoop really seems like it would be nice. The few times I've used a hoop I found it touch to hold.
I bet the Warm and Natural batting would be too thick for the hoop...I sure might have to try one, though.
Best regards,

You know that scrappiness goes right to my heart! I love those blocks, and I might just try it, not that I need another project,,,I just get goofy about scraps...tee hee
That half hoop is to envy Ms Finn! 8-) If I ever come across one, I shall snatch it up!!
Happy stitchings!
Love the block. Will have to try it some time.
It is looking so good, I am ripping through my UFO's...if I just didn't keep finding more...of them???? It must slow down...as need to make some Holiday gifts.... but it sure has been fun... and motivating to do.
How do you like the half hoop? I've seen them before and contemplated getting one, but couldn't seem to justify it.

Though I sold well over 100 of those at Houston one year ('88 or '89 - can't remember now), I have never seen anyone else use one! I love mine!
