Sunny days...

chasing the clouds away....Ebby and I are both longing for some green grass... and soft summer breezes. Flowers would be good too! Today we have a rainy day, good for snoozing, baking cookies, and playing with scraps. Instead I'm doing laundry, working on taxes, and going to look at a house in my village. Yes, I'm toying with the idea of leaving my little cottage and the cottage life. The reasons are very complicated, so lets just say "I'm exploring ALL my options *VBS*". The house in question has gone into foreclosure, which really helps the incentive to buy vs. rent. Luckily I'm not an impulse buyer...LOL. I've walked around the yard(in the rain)taken pictures from all sides and scheduled a viewing. It appears to have been quite neglected in the outside grooming, and I'm prepared for the inside to be equally so...we shall see.
I spent yesterday at Jeans, sewing and chatting. I'm back to sewing rug strips, and have a new circular rug started.
I wanted to mention about the fabric, despite the large pile, there are only a few half yard pieces in the pile and nothing larger than a half yard. For several years now, I primarily buy FQs or half yard cuts when buying fabric. I have a large stash of bigger yardages and one yard pieces. Those I use for setting blocks, backings and borders. The bulk of my piecing is done with scrappy in mind. It's what makes me happy.
So the bulk of what I've culled and will cut(soon)is less than a FQ or half yard. I'm not sure why I hang onto those instead of "ending it" when I make the first cuts, but I do. They don't take up much space, but eventually it gets to be too much of them and not enough variety in the scrap bag.And 2.5" strips get used in so many things *VBS*

Good Luck House Hunting. Sounds like fun to me. Hey, how do you do your rugs, crochet, braid??? I have one started with a hook type thing I got and my rug seems to be more of a bowl affect then flat. Wondering what I did wrong and how to fix it. Would love to see some pics of yours. I love working on it but want it to flatten out. LOL. And I am with you and green grass, maybe all this rain will help that along, we can only hope.

You're more organized than I am. I love those fat quarters, though.

Oh, show us pictures of the house. It sounds like you like it. That little area where you live is certainly pretty and tidy, though.

I love those fat quarters too. You have way more of a variety I think. Our weather...we won't even talk about.

Have fun house hunting.

Love the powerful treasure of all those colors and fabrics. Wish I could play with them. I'd sort them and hug them. LOL.

And good luck with the house. I have the "moving" bug so badly, but where in our little place to stay.

I hope you have a great day.

I'm waiting impatiently for green grass and flowers too... Yesterday icy rain, and today I woke to snow... AND the furnace not working!!!! 8-/

House hunting can be great fun! Moving, and fixing things up in another place, not so much...

Good luck with all your cutting! 8-)

Happy stitchings!

I hear your call for sunny days! and some warmth! very tired of winter and even though the calendar says spring, old man winter is still hanging around like a guest who has overstayed his welcome!

what a great photo of ebby. my kitties have been sniffing at the door when it's opened but the cold air turns them back. LOL
