Lazy gal Finn gets busy....

and it's about time, isn't it?? *VBS* Yup, I think so too! Two more of my loot from the birthday shopping trip to Mill Ends. I had a coupon for 60% off one regular priced, on the bolt, item. I chose the salmon colored flannel. It's $5- a yard regular. I bought 6 yards for $15- vs. $30- without the coupon. The frog flannel is for a couple of christmas pillowcases I had to pay full price for it, but I only got 2 yards. That's two pillowcases and scraps *VBS* Oh yes, the fabric is being displayed on Ebby's playground. Some of her favorite toys there...a pull ring milk tab, her mice and the brown thing is a moose, and a narrow strip of fabric, perfect for dragging across the floor.
Betsy and I began a block exchange a few years back. We each made up these hourglass blocks from 5" squares of fabric. Since 2 squares yields 2 hourglass, we kept one and swapped the other. It's been, maybe, 5 years ago? Too long, at any rate. We've both lost interest, and yesterday I began sizing them to a uniform size. I let Betsy know I was doing this, just so she knew. She doesn't even remember where hers are...LOL I'll bet she goes looking for them. When I'm done sizing, I'll sew them into what they turn our to be...*VBS*
As with this quilt, which went to a 3 yr old boy in our area, and the quilt below, I think the hourglass top will probably have a very similar 'flavor'. Both Betsy and I used a lot of orange, lime green and other bright colors.
This Aurora quilt, which strangely enough, went to the same little boy... has that same flavor. I think I see a pattern here...LOL

Hey Finn! You made some great purchases at Mill Ends. Lucky score on the American Girl doll too. I've never seen one in a thrift shop yet (and I don't do ebay, except to look a little).

I've realized recently that Reilly doesn't play as much as he/we used to either. I also hold myself responsible... at least in part. Inevitably he wants to play when I want to sew!
