Sunny Monday.....

and not too cold outside. It almost feels like we have a thin slice of Indian Summer. It's a season in the midwest, that falls after the first hard frost, and before the big freeze up. Usually it's warmer than this year, and usually it hits in early October. But hey, we'll take it whenever we get it and be happy it came *VBS* I haven't sewn, quilted or bound for over 2 weeks now, so I'll show you some of my "finds". These are part of my loot from the birthday shopping trip with Betsy. Only the yellow has been washed. I'm doing wash today, and I realize I hadn't done a pic of the new fabrics...so here are a couple. The yellow will probably be a background for a childs quilt. The dragons are for another dragon pillow case, the strips are for binding(only got a half yard) and the candy?? well...just because I like it *G*
With these, the darker polka dot will be lattice and/or borders. The middle blue is part of the Happy Train line, and will be borders and binding. The small piece of blue is a 'just because I like it' piece, a quarter yd I think.
And here's one of my treasures from last weeks thrifting with friends. I really like this guy...he's so happy. No wet mittons at my house anymore, but that's ok, I'll hang something else on the pegs.
And this is my big find, the American girl doll, in good shape with a nice dress for just over $30-/ She is one of the earlier AG dolls, named Kirsten, from the Revolutionary War period. I have a couple more, purchased on Ebay, and one new on in the box. I bought them before I even had granddaughters...how about that??

Oh it's so good to see you posting a post today. That material is so pretty. I really like the blue one with the little trains...too cute. And that doll, wow what a good deal. Hope you have a wonderful week, dear friend.

Some good finds from your thrifing adventures...really think that wet mitten sign is so cute. Are you going to let the granddaughters play with the dolls?

Really like the fabric designs you have pictured.

Enjoy the sunshine...won't be here long.

What fun fabrics you share, Finn and gosh you know this is a day where for sure I'm learning something. I didn't know those American Girls went that far back - to the Civil War and all.

Ahhh, fabric photos! My sewing room is still a disaster from doubling as Halloween Central, so only hand sewing here. I need to fondle some fabric, but not today. So I'll just have to live vicariously!

Some nice goodies there! I can never resist a nice Dolly. I wont tell you how many I have, but suffice to say, I used to make my own porcelains so I have many- plus my daughter's childhood dolls, & even 2 of my own.

Those are nice... love the red and white quilt. I have stuck into finishing up a Bargello that I started last year. It will hopefully go on the machine next week. Thanks for getting me remotivated.

What great finds you have made . . . . aren't stripes the best for binding? I love it! *s*
