The decision is final....

This is the 2nd UFO for this challenge. It's been hanging around about a year. I showed the picture last challenge, but never got around to it. The blocks finish at 8", right now it's 48" X 64". I'm going to make it double bed size for DS #2. Using the 8" size it will be 80" X 96". I need to piece quite a few more string blocks...LOL. Better get to it!

You absolutely can do it, Finn! And DD #2 will just love getting such a nice big quilt! I'm working on 2 strings at once (one full, one queen), and 2 orphan 9 patches charitable donation (bunk quilts)at once, and haven't quite finished pulling all of my hair out yet! What I have left may be going grey...but I am having a blast!

Your strings! Wonderful, wonderful! (remember Lawrence Welk saying that?) I love the bright colors contrasting with your neutrals, and your layout is wonderful. Enjoy making the rest of your blocks!!

Lovely string quilt, Finn. I am so glad you got your mojo back. i also love this challenge -- I have TWO completed UFOs to report. Admittedly, all they needed was binding and labels but they have been sitting around for a VERY long time. Your challenge gave the kink that I needed to focus. Quilting ADD is a very bad thing.

What a pretty UFO. That's one you should finish.

That is going to be a beautiful quilt, Finn! I love the contrast between the blocks. I've decided to add my crow/acorn wallhanging to your UFO challenge. :) Surely I can finish big-stitching that one, and get it into wallhanging or pillow form, right? :d

So what method are you using to piece your string blocks? Are you piecing onto a foundation? It's sure lookin' good!

Just deciding which UFO to finish is a huge decision (if you are like me and have lots to choose from). I look forward to seeing your progress!

This string quilt will be gorgeous!

I remember this one! It's the first time I've seen a string quilt with alternating dark and light squares. Very striking!
