that I will post every day. After 5 years, I don't have as much to share as I did in the beginning. But I'm making the effort to post more often!! This is todays mess! I love sewing early in the morning with my mug of coffee at my side. And although I'm hard at work on those string blocks(!!!) I need something else to piece. I'm not a quilter than can go "straight" through a project to the end. This morning, I'm making 4 patches. Needless to say, from scraps!
And working with scraps requires ironing! For this I've pulled out my old faithful GE travel iron. It's an oldie but goodie. It's stainless steel, small and light weight, but with great heat! It's also old enough to have a cloth cord. It doesn't "grab" the corners of quilt blocks like my regular iron does. I use this iron on the little portable ironing board laid across on Rubbermaid standing baskets thingy.
Here's yet another "begun" that I plan on finishing, but not necessarily as one of my 5 pledged projects. I think I've begun Gypsy Quilter Kitchen Sink in every possible flavor. For this one, I wanted to use up some primarly black FQs. I found the container held 15 blocks. I need 30 for a donation quilt. Soooo, I stitched the additional 15 yesterday while waiting for the Sears repair man. Now to get them ironed and joined up...! That's another container emptied!!! How's everyone doing on their current projects?

It's nice to see you are back in the swing of it. How else are you going to lessen the pile of fabric?
Put me down for three finished.
It'll be a while until I show them on my blog, but they are done!!! One little, one big, and one just right for me ;)
I love that you're back too.
I'm still working on the 4 SBS quilt tops. One is finished, just waiting now for me to quilt it. Second top is almost finished, hopefully tonight. I'm hoping to have all 4 ready to quilt by Sat. and have them quilted by Monday. Between renovating, quilting and everything else that's going on, it's crazy here.
Heh Michele, great job. We just might go crazy together!! Hugs

I've got my first UFO project basted and ready to quilt whenever I have a little extra time and another in the planning. Otherwise I'm a bit of a scatterbrain these days, working a little on this and a little on that without much focus.
Congrats on a empty container. That's progress. Sorry you were waiting on a repair man. Hope it was nothing serious.
So happy to see you sewing all those patches. I've been a busy stitcher when I've had the time. Project #1 is almost done while the 2 interloper projects took over and are finished. Both are tiny and shouldn't count for my challenge. Project #2, an ancient ugly UFO, is DONE! Hoo-ray for me! Put me down for 1 done and 2 extras finished. I'm on a roll.
I love the old iron! Sometimes older is better. I just started using my old 1938 Singer machine because it does so much better on the straight stitch than my newer Singer!
Finn, Thanks for your comment on my blog. I think I fixed the No Reply problem but I'm not sure. All I could find that might be related is "Show your email address" That doesn't' make sense to me. Let me know if it worked!
Must feel good to get back into things. Grabbed three quilt tops, sandwiched them and one is completely done, With the stormy weather, I've got the second one ready to be quilted, and hopefully that will be done this weekend! Feels good to move thing along!
I'm not in the challenge - sorry - I'm pressurising myself to much and have sort of taken a quilting break, but I hear you regarding the can't concentrate on one project at a time. I think that's my problem. I've got too much on my plate.
Hey - perhaps I might secretly play along and get some niggling Q4L quilts finished.
One step forward and two steps back. Actually, it's not quite that bad. I've made significant progress on my Cream & Green quilt, but at the expense of my DWR. I have to rectify that. Oh -the step backwards? I finished the center of Blue Ridge Beauty -- only to discovered I sewed the two halves together wrong and have a block turned wrong. Oh well.
