Always Scrappy? Well, almost always..*G* Here is a little quilt I made one dull winter day. The background is one of those wonderful wovens from India. I call this one "something's missing". Dear friends Betsy and Joe went off to Cancun, Mexico for a mid winter vacation. They DIDN'T take ME!! Of course my going was never an option, but what the heck??? You're leaving me here in the cold and snow? So I made my own "tropical atmosphere". I don't need much of a reason to play with fabric. Machine pieced, hand quilted with clamshells..*VBG* P.S. Clam shells came before free form fans..*G* This one lives with me. Posted by Picasa

Finn - that bright plaid is happy! And I love the clam shells quilting. I have to try that on one - I've never done clam shells!

This is a wonderfully bright and cheerful piece. Thank so much for sharing it. It brights the grey overcast day here, just by being on my screen.

Happy New Year

don't you just love those little quilts that result from a "play day"? Sometimes it's nice to take a break from other projects and just play with no goal in mind.

If your quilts reveal your inner self, you must be bright, brave, and rebellous to do such a non-traditional color scheme. It is great, thanks for sharing.
