Always Scrappy? Well, almost always..*G* Here is a little quilt I made one dull winter day. The background is one of those wonderful wovens from India. I call this one "something's missing". Dear friends Betsy and Joe went off to Cancun, Mexico for a mid winter vacation. They DIDN'T take ME!! Of course my going was never an option, but what the heck??? You're leaving me here in the cold and snow? So I made my own "tropical atmosphere". I don't need much of a reason to play with fabric. Machine pieced, hand quilted with clamshells..*VBG* P.S. Clam shells came before free form fans..*G* This one lives with me.

Beautiful!!! What a pleasure to ring in the New Year with a bright festive quuilt. Keep up the good work
Finn - that bright plaid is happy! And I love the clam shells quilting. I have to try that on one - I've never done clam shells!
This is a wonderfully bright and cheerful piece. Thank so much for sharing it. It brights the grey overcast day here, just by being on my screen.
Happy New Year
don't you just love those little quilts that result from a "play day"? Sometimes it's nice to take a break from other projects and just play with no goal in mind.
The clam shells are GREAT! I just MAY have to try these!

Happy New Year!! I like your colorful quilt...it is so cheerful and happy. Just the thing for a gray winter day or any day.
Oh it's wonderful and bright and happy. Love it.
Happy 2006, Finn! Just getting caught up here. I'm looking forward to a year of friendship!
Oh Finn...what a treat for my eyes! I just love your "Tropical Atmosphere!" So bright and cheery...just what I needed.
Thank you!
If your quilts reveal your inner self, you must be bright, brave, and rebellous to do such a non-traditional color scheme. It is great, thanks for sharing.
