HAPPY MARCH 1st everyone..*S*..it's coming in like a lamb in my part of WI, with afternoon temps of 42 degrees. Up north, they are getting snow. I have some pretty interesting friends, LOL, and the maker of this quilt is no exception. Her older sister gave her a box(a BIG box) of polyster fabric...ya, the pants suit polyster. She was totally convinced that her younger sister could NOT rise to the challenge of making a quilt from it...LOL. But my friend Audrey loves a challenge. This is an original quilt. Everything but the yarn ties(white against the cheddar) is POLYSTER..maybe the yarn is too!! She came up with 6 women, each very individual, and their very attractive hats.. and jewelry!. And pieced letters, similar to Tonya's, not quite as wonky, it says "POLLY ESTHER NEVER FADES", which we all know was it's biggest claim to fame. The blocks are done by laying pieces where needed to be and top stitched in place...and of course, we ALL know, it won't ravel either...Happy March everyone!! Posted by Picasa

Fun quilt! Reminds me of something Mary Lou Weideman would do.

What a great quilt! Polly Esther's is/was a "club" in this neck of the woods.

What a marvelously creative quilt. Absolutely love it! Poly Ester never wears out or gets tired either - she just develops a bit of a shine. Who says you can't make a quilt out of double knits!

Happy March 1st to you!
Today is one of the warmest days, 75 degrees, that we have had in a while. It was great spending the day outdoors today.

Your friend, Audrey's quilt is one of a kind. Thanks for sharing this polyester non fading quilt*VBG.*

What a wonderful quilt. My mom made our son a polyester quilt, just a patchwork, and he loves it. We joked at the time about how when gets married his wife will throw the ugly thing out. This Poly Ester will live eternally. Like a lamb here also. CLose to 60.

I love it!! How creative to have come up with THAT when handed a bag full of polyester!! I would have NEVER been able to.

WHAT A HOOT!!!! I love this! Do you think there ever was really a person named Polly Esther??? Good old fashioned name that! I love the barrister's block quilt you have shown above it too. I've got ONE block pinned to my design wall in that pattern, and that is as far as it goes. I can't imagine cutting a piece of every fabric to use in a quilt.....
