This just stuck me sooooo funny this mornng...not the 4 scraps pieced together to get that one last red square, but what was used for the other 3 in the center. Of course it's not that unusual, but being a lover of polka dots, it both surprised and delighted me to see them on the back side. Posted by Picasa

Well it does give you double the choice in your stash - using the back side of the fabric too - I often do this when the main side is just too much 'in your face'

She wanted red and didn't have any more, evidently...so she used the backside of what red she did have! Goody for her!

love that example of using both sides! a trick I have been known to do once I embraced the fact that you pay for both sides :-)
lovely block Finn..

Makes you glad she didn't get round to quilting it - we'd have missed out on the surprise. P.S. Thank you for your kind comments - I'm in the mood to persevere a bit longer now.

gotta love it! The quilter knew that she paid for both sides of that fabric, just like we do. Doesn't appear to be much change in the color from front to back so why not.

That is one of my fav blocks--I've got a green one for my sampler.

She was either very poor or very frugal. Another great block for the orphan sampler.

I'm impressed by not only the polkadots on the back, but the pieced bits to make a whole square AND the jaggy scrap of white.

I can't wait to see how you're going to set all of these!
