As you can see, my vision used to be alot better..LOL. I've crosshatched through the 9 patches, both directions. A star in the center of the snowballs, a small wave pattern on all the dk red borders and stars connected by lines in the outer bortder. And as fate would have it, I still have probably 5+ yards of the teadyed stripe, several of the flags, and a good 2 yard chunk of the teadyed stars...LOL. They seemed so wonderful when they first came out in the early 1990's...not quite so much so anymore.

Well you can say what you will, but I think it's a wonderful quilt!! No matter when it was made or what pattern. Have you forgotten that some of the best older quilts are made with tried and true simple designs and patterns? Silly girl!
Love that it's hand quilted and such a wonderful pattern...customized to each design. Take the left over fabric and make another one!
Oh I disagree about those fabrics, too! I don't think Patriotic fabrics ever go out of style!! And I love the quilt and the quilting, too!
Happy 4th, Finn!
I am in the midst of putting snowballs between 9 patches too - I think that is a pattern that you can do a lot with. And hey, your patriotic fabric is WAY better than what I had! I'm just so glad I didn't win the FQ drawing and get more!
And I do admire all your hand quilting.
In each time in out life we have different abilities and contribute different things. Remember that we do not possess all of these at the same time and that one of them is no better than anothr. At one time you had the vision and perfect stitching. Now you have words to share your love of quilting and so many friends to inspire. I celebrate that you have been blessed with both.
I like the stars - I just bought some fabric very similar - it's a classic. Judy's right, and I'll bet in the 1960's people said they wouldn't use 1930's feedsack fabric - times change but design goes round in a circle.
I like the wave pattern in the border. Might have to steal that...

A happy 4th of July, Finn !
Congratulations for this wonderful quilt, it's really bright and beautiful !
It seems that you've given me a sort of "scrap fever" : I'm trying to make some "crackers in a square" blocks, this afternoon....
Friendship threads !
another wonderful quilt Finn! It is a timeless treasure-and showcases your quilting nicely.
It's a wonderful quilt. Happy Belated 4th of July to you!
Love the quilting! Heck, I even like the fabrics... I could use the stripes in a current PIG for my GF. She plans to dye the quilt once it is done...
Hey Finn! I have a bunch of the same fabrics! I do like patriotic quilts so I'm sure I'll use them up eventually. If nothing else one can piece backs from them!
