I've finally arrived at the last step of this little quilt, getting it in the mail. This is the result of Clare's challenge to me *VBS* It's headed off to Tennessee to live with Kennedy.
I used a soft, snuggly flannel on the back and a light weight batt inside. There were a couple of rules in the Quilts 4 Leukaemia that I wasn't aware of until Clare commented on the blocks that Carol E, of Giraffe Dreams is collecting. Apparently I should not have used the red fabric with the prints like the cows and eggs. The reds are to be plainer, so they read as "red". I've made a note of that Clare, but too late this time.
My friend Susan, at Patchwork Reflections did a lovely post with pictures of some great waterfalls they saw over the weekend. This one is closer to where I live *VBS*
These were taken Father's Day weekend by DD#1 and DSIL. I've never seen this one in person, but it's gorgeous. Today is Bingo at the nursing home and I'm a summer volunteer. I have packages to get in the mail and I MUST finish up those burp cloths and get them mailed. July is almost here *VBS*...almost time for that new grandbaby to make an appearance.

Hi Finn! Great waterfalls, it looks like y'all have a lot more water flowing out there than we do, it is still kinda dry around here. Love the red, white, and blue quilt. I am looking for a patriotic/flag wall hanging pattern, any suggestions?

The flannel on the back makes it so much more snuggly. I have done that for children's quilts too. I have a piece of that Minke for a backing but it is just so stretchy. Have you every tried that? What did you think?
I love the quilt - and the waterfall is beautiful. Sounds like you had a good (if a bit chilly early on) day.

No, dear, no. What I meant was don't go overboard on different colours. The reds can be anything. Just don't add different coloured fabrics. Take a look at the other quilts. I'm just about to add your gorgeous photos to the Q4L Flickr group.

what a wonderful quilt Finn...good for you to have this done. yes, chilly here too in the early mornings, then warms up-suppose to get into the 90's by the weekend. Those waterfalls look so inviting!

Once again, your heart is stitched up in a beautiful gift. The reds are perfect! and the flannel will be so comforting!! My niece just finished therapy for her leukemia at Caring Bridge, a wonderful place in Tx.
So, I know how much the gift means!
