Saturday Surprises....

Blessings come in all sorts of sizes, and so do surprises. *VBS* I'm happy to introduce you to my newest grandchild, Baby A, born Feb 10th. I got to meet her on Saturday, and she's a sweetie. She weighed in at nearly 8#s but seems very small to me.
The situation between her mom and my youngest DS is not one I approve of, or even understand, not really. But it's not the baby's fault and I was thrilled to receive the invitation to come and see her.
She's Daddy's little girl, and he's thrilled to have a daughter, but miserable with only getting to "visit". I haven't talked about this upcoming event as things have been so "difficult" and unpleasant. The mom is the gal in the birthday pictures from my birthday in 2007. As soon as she was positive she was expecting, she moved out of their apt and moved in with her sister. Hard not to draw a conclusion from that behavior, and of course, DS was crushed. Connect the dots back to my helping get him into a place to live on his own, last August. He and I are both without a clue as to what lies ahead now that baby is here. Mom gets to dictate what comes next. In the meantime, I'm thrilled to having gotten to see Baby A. and deliver a quilt and lots of pink burpcloths *VBS*

She's beautiful, Finn. And that you were allowed time with her and that Daddy has a photo might be the best you can hope for right now, but who knows what changes might lie ahead? Listen to him, as you always do, and wrap and protect the little one with quilts and burp cloths...that's a really good start from your own caring heart!

Such a sweet baby...I know you want to love, hug and kiss her all the time. You are so right...not baby's fault that grown up people do not see eye to eye in all situations. Just take each visit as you can.

Have a great week. May God bless you in some unexpectedly way!

Boy, am I fighting jealous feelings here! First pics of Amelia and her new grand daughter and now you. I am going to have to go find a baby to borrow!!

Congratulations on that new one, so happy that you got to see and hold her. Hopefully, she will make the grown ups, grow up and things will improve. All we can do is make the best of what we have in situations like this one. Amazing how now you are having girls!

You are not alone. This is almost exactly the same thing that happened to my nephew and I am as confused by the young woman's actions as you are by DS's girlfriend. So let's just say I know how you feel and have you in my prayers in hopes that things get better for you and DS. She's a beautiful baby!

What a hard and heartbreaking situation for your son and yourself but what a very cute baby girl. So glad you were able to inspect her and have a cuddle. My thoughts and prayers go out to you that your son will be able to continue a loving relationship with her.

Congratulations on the new grandbaby Finn. You are absolutly right about it isn't the baby's fault-many prayers for the parents and a few for you too. Gotta be a hard situation for you and your son.

Beautiful baby, I am praying things will get better for your son and you...I have been there myself, it's a heart breaker, but maybe in your case things will get better, Ours naver did, and baby is now a 23year old. But he does come by occasionally on his own and has been spending Thanksgiving and Christmas Days with us for several years now.For that we are all so grateful. She truly is beautiful and he looks like one proud pappa!

Such a cute adorable baby. She shares a birthday with my son. It doesn't make sense when parents will intentionally mess up a kids life but that is the way our society goes right now. The most important thing is the little one knows she is loved. She is lucky to have your for a Grandma.

A baby is the most precious thing in the world!!

it shows what a wonderful heart you have, and wisdom, too, for setting your feelings aside and for knowing that the baby is, after all, the most important thing. You're a wonderful Gramma!!!

You are so right the problems between the parents are not the baby's fault. She is just absolutley beautiful! So glad the mother is letting you have part in the your grandbaby's life! I can't imagine anything worse that could happen not to be part of my grandbabies' lives. It is so much fun sewing for grandbabies!!!
