Same old, same old....

routine here in the Valley. Not much of anything new to talk about or show. Altho the calendar says summer, the weather is displaying autumn. The day time highs are ranging in the 70's(vs. our normal 90's) and overnight temps call for at least ONE quilt! The AC thinks I don't love it anymore in view of the fact that I needed the furnace to run last week!! Ebony and I march onward with the scrap and stash reduction. I've been plugging away at my 10 MAM pieces a day(altho I have missed a few days!) and also trying to complete the needed blocks for older UFO projects. I have a pile that need ironing and sizing. Hopefully I'll have something new to show tomorrow *VBS*
Evening finds me watching a DVD and quilting free form on this little piece. Salmon perle cotton seemed a good color and salmon it is! My family has birthdays galore in July, not the least of who is Hailey Marie. She has reached the one year mark! Several of the DGS's have birthday in July, and also my 2nd DD. Both my DM and my DMIL had July 25th birthdays, having been born the same year, and having married in the same year. Small world, isn't it?

Oh that cool weather sounds great - or at least a relief from the high temps we have been having...did have a short rain storm blow thru a couple of hours ago - so cooled things done some. We really need more rain...having to water flowers and of course the garden.

Take care and have pleasant thoughts!

I love that first quilt. I see you have help and apparently our temp. is 4 degrees below what it should be (but that is in celsius.) We only have 2 July birthdays.

it's so good to hear from you. I always wonder if you're okay. Glad you're getting some quilting in. It's been cool here too. We haven't been over +30C yet this year, unheard of since we moved here. Hope you have a wonderful evening.

Wow, your furnace? I can only pray for this, as the temp is 105 today. Feels like 112! Love your scrappy goodness!

'same old same old' just means your days have a nice, comfortable rhythm *s*
I know what you mean about the birthday month - in my family January is a non-stop celebration *s*

I have enjoyed the cooler temps we have been having lately. But we have not been so cold that we have needed the furnace.
Isn't it funny how birthdays seem to accumulte in one month in families. May and June are our heavy months.

I love the fall...and am ready for a bit of it. My DS1 was born on your mom's and mom in laws! We are loaded up with birthdays this time of year also. Three grandkids in three and half weeks. Have a lovely day.

stopping by to say good to see what you are working on...I am not sewing but soaking up all the fun inspiration and joy of being in Sisters and did sew in my one class with Freddy. too lazy to stitch up my scraps I brought and relax doing some hand quilting...it will mostly likely be when I get home I will finally settle into actually quilting!

So glad you checked back in with us! I was beginning to be worried about you.

Love that little plaid job. I've always wanted to do one like that. Still on my list for someday...

I can't believe you're using the furnace! Please send some of the cool weather my way! I'd love to send you some of our heat!

Finn, I think there's much to talk about. First the quilt with Ebony being the most cute cat on the planet and then, well then there's this free form "little piece" which I adore. It makes me happy, smiley! Finally we round out with birthdays. So many I lost myself... :)

..and Salmon perle cotton. There's another thing to talk about! I liked reading about that choice.

There we go. Much was found to share over coffee, *karendianne.

How funny, I have a black cat too that helps (or hinders) me quilt.
